Forums - Gaming - EDIT: Forza is still the king of 7th gen racing! (according to Metacritic)

Tagged games:

GT6 still has mandatory licenses, online is locked behind National A license (2nd one). The license tests themselves are locked as well. You have to earn stars by winning races to unlock them.
There is of course arcade mode if you simply want to jump in, with a hugely restricted car list as the downside.

I've golded everything up to halfway through the National B events and haven't needed to buy or tweak a car yet. (apart from the starter car the game tells you to buy) Just started on the national A license test.

But yes where are all the great arcade racers, midnight club, burnout, wipeout, TDU, PGR, Motorstorm, Rally games in general. WRC3 was enjoyable but not up to the quality of the ps2/xbox era rally games.
The attempt to make them more appealing by adding guns hasn't worked, back to pure racing please.

Next to open world it would also be nice to see hot seat crash mode back in Burnout, and please clearly mark the races next time. I think a lot of people are turned off by these open world racers because they require you to read the map while hurtling along at 200mph. NFS Rivals is a lot of fun, but I've dropped out of a race plenty times by taking a wrong turn. Reading the map at 200mph, while avoiding cops/racers, obstacles, spike strips/stun mines, emp lock ons, while a helicopter is shining a spotlight in your eyes is just a bit too much to ask.

Forza is much better than GT, it deserves to have the best ranking.

And GT has much better variety and a lot more content, it deserves the higher sales.

Much more gameplay on offer in GT6 theres no doubt about that, it handles superb only jus started it and loving the improvement in it. although i dont like the standards getting mixed with premiums in selections

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

i was hinting more towards the later races using the formula GT cars and the nascar events where all the cars have the same BHP and PP where everything is restricted so you have to set the car up manually which if you are not 100% sure what to do can take a very long time. (i couldn't do the nascar races on GT5 till i saw a guide on how to set the car up)

Current PC build:

Asus Z97I-Plus, i5 4790K @ 4.6ghz, EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 1377/1853/124%, Corsair Vengence Pro 2400mhz 2x 8192mb, Corsair RM850, Corsair H80i, 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD, 750GB Seagate Momentus XT SSHD, 320GB Weston Digital HDD, Corsair 230T, Corsair K50 Raptor, HP XQ500AA mouse, Windows 10 Pro 64bit. iiyama Pro Lite G2773HS 120Hz 1Ms G2G gaming monitor.

Ah, I never bothered with tuning as I'm also not sure what camber and toe angles and that kind of stuff has for effect. The only thing I changed regularly were the gear ratios. I don't have the patience to change one thing at a time and drive 10 laps over and over to see what the difference is. I did complete the Nascar challenges but can't remember if I bothered getting gold on them. Drafting, feather like touch on the analog stick and a bit of luck seemed to work.

I don't know if it's still in Forza but I liked it when you could simply copy other people's tuning setup. I would be in favor of an automatic tuning mode, drive a bunch of laps and your virtual pit crew will best adjust the car to your driving style for that track. I like driving much more than tinkering with the car.

except its not.

No day and night
No weather
no rally
Forces you to buy DLC to enter some parts of the game
Drivatar is severly flawed (based on peopel that cant drive) aka ur stuck playing bumper cars.  And they drive streight into walls.
FARless content
Less cars
Less tracks
NO NURBURGRING lmao
Inferior online

but dont take my word on it

7 to 2 in GTs favor http://www.destructoid.com/gran-turismo-6-vs-forza-motorsport-5-266972.phtml

What score F5 really deserves is a high 4 low 5

its freaking 1/4 of a game
lacks features of the previos gen version
forces DLC on you
has shitty load times for a next gen game
It has worse career and physics then F4
Its just shiny next gen graphics in a severly gymped product.

F4 was legit competitior to GT, F5 is Not.

ok this i would definatly consider to be flamebait even though most of what you said i agree with there are points which just are not true and OMG the spelling errors, get your shit together, if you are going to post information regarding the pro's and con's or in your case just the con's the least you could do is check your post with a spell checker.

I'll be honest, I have no desire to shit on GT6 and I look forward to playing it. I already have it on hold at Redbox...

But Forza owned 7th gen racing. It owned it!

Enjoy your ban, unrelated, but enjoy it anyway.

Don't get too excited guys!

They are now both at 81/100 at metacritic.

GT6 still going up. Forza 5 is stable, should not move much now.
