Forums - Sony - Gran Turismo 6 Review Thread (Drama!!)

Please guys, let's argue like children. Just enjoy your game whether it be Forza 5 or GT6.

Yes it appears that GT6 can't outscore an unfinished Forza but then again Forza has been an amazing game for years and i doubt many people arguing has actually played both franchises.

So here is the anecdote, just play what you want and if you like it then who cares about anything else. It is all fanwars anyways.

Looks to me like the racing sim games like Forza and GT may be on the decline. I was talking to a friend about a week ago and we both kinda came to the conclusion that these games won't be able to get away with just looking good and providing a ton of cars and tracks anymore. They're going to need to start offering more. They need to become more than what they've been. Both franchises seem like they're becoming stale and lacking a soul.

To be fair Forza 5 was being criticized for not being finished (Or a lack of content).  If it would have been pushed back a couple months to get all the content finished it would have scored higher.

I haven't read or watched any GT reviews yet so Idk why it is getting these scores.

Venturebeat - 65/100

http://venturebeat.com/2013/12/06/gran-turismo-6-review/

My first time on the track was a disaster. I hit the wall three times. I spent more time off the track than on it. I even wound up driving the wrong way at one point. My lack of digital driving skills is without question. Yet, here I am reviewing Gran Turismo 6, Polyphony Digital’s latest entry in its long-running “Real Driving Simulator” franchise.

what kind of reviewing is that... ur bad at the game so u give it a shit review can

I think the launch of Gran Turismo 6 for the PS3 was because of some superstition of their creators (2 GT for each Playstation), because it does not make much sense.
Definitely I will not buy this version.
These racing games improve very little in relation to one another (like soccer games). I have Forza 3 and skipped 4; got Gra Turismo 5 and will skip 6, and got F1 2010 and skipped all later versions.

That may be a major reasoning but there were other reasons. Either way, both franchises have watched their critical reception decline. The Forza franchise peaked in sales with the third game so far and I believe the same happened to GT. Even with more content I doubt Forza 5 would have received something close to a 9 average. I think it still would have been the lowest rated in the series. Sony needs to push Polyphony Digital to branch into other games. There really shouldn't be room for a one-trick-pony studio these days. I'm honestly hoping GT6 doesn't sell well so the argument can't be made of, "well people are still buying so...".

These reviews are a meaningless and bullshit. I don't want to hear the opinion of a guy that just sucks in driving simulators and consider it boring. Look, if it is not you're kind of game, dont review it!!!. Gran Turismo is not lying you..., it's a game that tries to be best racing simulator in consoles. The definition of boring is subjective. I spent hours after hours trying to beat my numbers or other people numbers. Of course there's things that are improvable in GT6 (IA and sound), but the things that are most important for me, GT6 does it better than anyone else.

If you're a fan of Gran Turismo (seems to be that there are 10 million people every time...) GT6, is just GT5 but better. Its graphics are amazing for a ps3 game, the fidelity of tracks, vehicules and physics is unbeaten on consoles and the design menus have improved a lot.

So, no surprises here, if you liked GT 5 you will like GT6 even more, that's all you need to know.

I could agree with that xD  Anyways as I mentioned before people need to just enjoy the games if they like them instead of focusing on numbers or console wars.

It also could be partially because reviewers are being a little more critical in the coming generation.  Which I'm fine with as long as they keep it that way.  It'll prob take a while for people to get use to if that is the case and I doubt it is the case lol  But none the less I just wanted to throw that out there xD

Did I just read the Venture beat review right? He sux at racing games but went on to review... a racing simulator... Why do review sites keep on doing this? The lack of empathy alone for the genre will bring down the score.

Polygon is being honest, guys
