Back on November 18th of 2012 the 8th generation of home consoles began (I DONT GIVE A FUCK WHAT YOU SAY) when Nintendo launched the Wii U. It launched with titles such as New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendoland, ZombiU, Assassins Creed 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 just to name a few. It started off selling quite alright but as we celebrated for the arrival of 2013 things began to look worse for the WiiU. A lack of compelling software for long periods of time lead to a drop in sales and intrest for the WiiU. Whilst some 1st party titles such as Wind Waker HD or Pikmin 3 saw some small sales spikes for Wii U hardware the system could never hold on to good sales. As we head into the holidays we can see that the sales are on the rise again, but that could just be the holiday push or a small burst from the new Mario. Both the Xbox One and PS4 are now out and they are quickly gaining on Wii U's sales and so I ask the question, should Nintendo have launched Wii U this holiday instead? Would the Wii U have been better of launching along side its rival consoles? After all Wii U would have been in the converstion this holidays for the next gen consoles, it wouldnt have this reputation for not having games (and 2014 looks like a good year that would stop it from gaining that moniker) and it would have a phenomenal launch line up, the best of the 3 consoles. Possible launch games include New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendoland, Super Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost World, Lego City, Pikmin 3 and much more.
One thing I would like to note is that this is focusing on the Wii U and not the situation Nintendo were in with the Wii. I would like it if you too would focus on the Wii U
