Oh ok, so now we're removing PC because it destroys your argument. That's cool.

Of course, all we're left with is the bolded, but unfortunately I for the life of me cannot seem to find a PS4 version of Killer Instinct or Ryse anywhere.

Who removed PC? It has been acknowledged PC is the best system........

BUT, how does that help if you want to play destiny? Halo? Uncharted? Gran

turismo? Game doesn;t exist on PC how does that help you?

The number of people who own PC's to be able to run PC games at 1080P and on high settings is low.

PC> Ps4>x1

How does that help me play Forza, KI, or Titanfall on PS4?

Okay you two are confusing me...are you talking about resolution or exclusive games...becase these are two different things...

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

I think convo was like this:

sy: 1080>720
pc: y not 4k then if resolution matters
sy: 4k don't count cause you cant play the 'console' games on 4k
ms: but you can't play ms exclusives on sony consoles either
sy: ooops ok 4k>1080p>720 but still 1080>720
ms: but my exclusives

Besides the argument that "resolution matters, but it isn't the only thing that matters," there is also the matter that resolution matters for certain TYPES of games. In others, resolution changes virtually nothing. Although I would say more games are increasingly needing higher resolution. However, I don't think anything above 4K (probably not even 1080p) is really necessary for a game.

seriously 1080p is more than enough for 60" and below tvs while 2k-4k is good for 60" above TVs but how many can afford those panels? I only appreciate high res visual on RPG games anyway. Who want to go and fucking sight seeing on racing and pfs shooters?

Sigh, been addressed 100 times....read the thread.. PC is the best, but cannot play uncharted, killer instinct, Infamous etc... on PC. Not everyone has a good enough PC nor the money or know how to game on PC or upgrade.

So you're willing to accept a lower resolution to play the games you enjoy.

I think it's awesome that Killzone 6 and Knack are 1080p, that's great for PS4 owners. I, however, have no interest in those games.

However, I wanna play Ryse, and Killer Instinct. Those aren't on PC or the other console.

According to your OP, I should bypass the games I would enjoy playing and pick up those games that would bore me to 1080p tears. But according to the answer you just provided, it's logical to play where the games I enjoy are.

Glad I could clear that up for you, hopefully you see the difference from now on. You're welcome.

He's saying that all else held equal higher resolution is only a plus.

I think this point needs to be hammered in and that this whole entire "debate" is stupid.

Of course resolution matters. All else held equal, people would prefer to have a higher resolution. If you could choose a PS4 that can only do 720 and a PS4 that can do 1080p and there were no price differenes, people would choose the latter. Same thing if you replace PS4 with Xbox One.

A valid discussion is how much higher resolution matters. But the Xbox One is at a bit of a disadvantage when it has lower resolution AND is charging a higher price premium. But the bottom line is that "resolution doesn't matter" is just incorrect.

Yeah, it seems game journalists got some glasses after the launch of the systems...

Keep your micro transaction laden games on your xbox 1 we don't want them near our gaming machine.. thanks...

Now xbox go home!

wow that damage control and deflecting..Why bring up the strawman PC, when many games are console only? PC is too expensive or requires too much know how for many, also many don't like playing on PC. Stop spinning.

1080P > 900P and 720P. fact. Anyone who had a choice between 1080p and 720p for the same game,,,any logical person would rather 1080p.

Many games are also PC only, your argument doesn't make sense. PC is too expensive? But I thought resolution mattered. If resolution matters, then you should go PC, no matter the price since resolution is most important. If the games you like to play aren't on PC, then resolution doesn't matter, because PC games can go much higher in that regard.

And, yes, if everyone had a choice for 1080p or 720p, everyone would go 1080p. Except if your TV set isn't 1080p, because then 1080p will look worse than 720p. That's some logic.

This discussion is really absurd... For me is clearly: Games>>>>Prize>>>Power.

The games I want is the most important thing, if this game is in various systems, then prize is the second most important thing (I don't want to pay 600-1000$ for a beast of pc for just graphics...), and if the prize is similar, then i want the one who have the better specs (in this case, the one who can put better graphics of the same game).

If people choose the system that cost 500$ instead of the one that cost 400$ because of games I'm perfecly fine with that, but if the games you want are in both systems and one is cheaper and more powerful.., the decision should be obvious.

Edit: And of course, RESOLUTION MATTERS...., and 1080p is clearly better than 720p or 1080i.
