So what did we learn today?
The Xbox 360 has a hardware upscaled (which I already knew) and the PS3 doesn't (didn't know). Still looked good to me though. Never looked to see what kind of resolution it was putting out. Automatically assumed it upscaled it before going to TV.

with such a title I just had to come in here, but i didn't follow the topic and now i just realised lewis sounds alot like how peter pronounces lois

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

The PS3 upscales too but if given the option to go native, it goes native. I didn't know.
That's weird. I still can't tell the difference.

Notice any difference? Darker and smoother?

Not as blurry but a lot more pixelated. I hate to say it but, after all of this hoopla, I went back to the 720p setting. Aldro might have been right. Upgrading to 1080p may have made things look worse. I just adjusted some setting on my TV and left it at that.
my 2 cents... i have a 5 year old LCD from Samsung and my brother in law (that lives in the house under mine) has a same size but newer 3D LCD also from samsung (is a high end model as is mine) and we have PS3 (same 60gb launch model) and games look better on my TV. His TV has over the top post processing effects that just ruins the game for me... i can play games in normal mode and in his TV i have to put in "game mode" for it to be shaper and clean like mine... newer ain't always better. Try the game mode on your TV to see if you get less blur.
BTW: we both use the 720p option and let the TV do the work...

My Panasonic LED had some kind of motion enhancements ON by default. Whenever you watch something, it looks like extra frames added but laggy. I turned that crap off. How can you game with post processing lag?
My Panasonic plasma looks good out of the box, it's a delight to game on. Looks almost as good as CRT.
I always if possible never let the TV do any work with the picture, be it upscaling or filters.I want the best native and pure image, even if it's lower res.

Yes both upscale.
The PS3 uses a much weaker software solution. Whereas 360 uses hardware built in. I thought this was common knowledge since 2006?
