I'm not sure why people are so surprised that Knack outsold Mario? You have to consider a lot of things in a market other than just what review score it got.

Knack is the only real kid friendly game in the PS4 disc games line up. Wii U hasn't sold very well. Mario platformers have recently saturated the industry.

Great debut for PS4. I think a bit like the assumption that Nintendo's core base had massively expanded with Wii is proving to be a false assumption, the assumption that after only one generation of Xbox success UK is magically Xbox land is also possibly a false assumption. The people who bought PS2 then switched to Xbox 360 (which must be considered a large proportion of Xbox 360 owners) should never have been assumed to be permanent Xbox converts.

One weekend doth not a generation make, but MS is going to have a tough time making the UK it's bitch this generation.

I think we can be confident that Mario will probably out leg Knack.

Why?  Germany would have easily matched the UK alone and France will have probebly nearly matched it. Then you have the rest of Europe and Australia. I'd say nearer 1.2 million (just over 1 million in Europe)

Germany and Frances' console market is a lot smaller than the UKs', just look at the numbers this gen. Still believe it'll be higher than 700k though
