Forums - Microsoft - How quickly do games usually drop in price??

I'm thinking about getting dead rising 3 for the One. I hate paying full price for anything. How long do you think it'll take to be let's say $40?

For normal games it takes 2-4 months here, but for a launch game it will probably take longer.

Same thing KingdomHeartsFan said.

But do remember during the holiday season Xbox has great sales. I got some fairly recent DLC on Skyrim, and the fresh game The Walking Dead last year for half off. The sales switch every day, so we might be lucky and have some Xbox One games in there.

Well, at least I hope we do.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!

I think amazon is doing cyber Monday discount on a few Xbox one games

When the demand isn't there anymore. When bigger and better Xbox One games come out, the launch titles will become super cheap. They don't do anybody any good sitting on store shelves.

well it also depends on the game really... a Halo game price will go down slower than a bad rated game....

now if you want DR3 at 40 new I would say mid spring for sure... maybe earlier....

you have it at 49.99 on amazon cyber Monday today though http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Rising-3-Xbox-One/dp/B00FM5IY0Q/ref=sr_tr_sr_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385988009&sr=8-1&keywords=dead+rising+3

This. If a game is still selling well at full price 3 years later then it won't get a price drop. If it sells like crap from the start then it may get a price drop within weeks as shops look to get rid of dead stock.

I think there will be some flash sales during Christmas, and will continue to fluctuate over the next few months, but commonly the games that came out for last gen dropped to half price point within a month, with the exception of COD games (Up to Black Ops I), but now COD games follow the same pattern as normal games.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

If it's an Activision game it'll be full price for at least a year.

Also my hypothesis applied to used games, new games take even longer because most publishers are tight cunts.
