Firstly... Kilzone didn't deservers be in the list... mediocres games needs to be out.

Now about the weight I believe one vote per magazine/site is the best... no exceptuons.

You can have plataform exclusives magazines/sites since you the same amount from the other side.

but its not, and its way better than COD and Battlefield. I think Metro should win though.

Killzone is highly underated, has the best graphics on console, great gameplay, stronger story than both Battlefield, and CoD. Great multiplayer. A long campaign at 10-12 hours, especially when compared to the 5-7 hours campaigns of Battlefield and Cod.

Killzone is really over harshly critiqued. while other FPS great graded primarly as a multiplayer game, KZ gets graded as a primarly single player game, even though its not. Even though its campaign is longer and stronger than 80% of all other FPS.

I believe many got frustrated with Killzone which probably soured their experience. Will find out tomorrow as I finally get it x]

Why do you expect Killzone to be in the nominees? The series has never been on the level of COD, Battlefield, Borderlands, Halo, or FarCry.

You clearly haven't play Killzone 2 or Killzone 3 if your making that judgement..its not as good as Halo but it is far better than games like Borderlands or Farcry.

That's pretty funny

They're biased towards the mainstream but not a particular company.

GTA V is going to win because it was the most mainstream game this year. Lets face it.

2 is the best out of the series so I'll give you that. My main point is that those games I mentioned actually had an impact on the Fps genre. Give or take FarCry3.

So i was looking at the VGX website (better know as VGA) and I was looking at who's on their voting panel. It turns out they have 3 guys from Polygon on the advisory panel, and even 1 from the Official Xbox Magazine. Only 2 other cites even have 2 representatives, no other cite besides polygon has 3. Even the biggest gaming cite, IGN, only has 1 representative. Not only that. Theres a rep from Xbox Magazine. no other console has a dedicated cite being present. Not PlayStation Magazine, nor Nintendo.

It just seems odd to me that they would only have a rep from xbox, and not for the other consoles, and on top of that have the most reps (3) coming from polygon, while every other cite besides Kataku, and penny arcade? (with 2 reps each) has only one representative.

Also i hate how they nominate games before some of them even come out, and then also leave out games that havent come out yet (namely GT6 this year, Far Cry last year). And really, Call of Duty and Battlefield are nominated for best shooter, but Killzone isnt? really.

So is this just a coincidence, an gross oversight, or perhaps intentional? Does this make VGX bias?

http://www.spike.com/vgx/advisory-council

because all the nominated games were already released as review version (forza, mario and killer instinct if i remember correct) before they announced the nomination but gt6 and far cry 3 weren't already released as review version. they had probaly at least one week time to play all of this years nominated games. ign even accidentally released their video review of mario before they announced the mario nomination. so, if all magazines already knew what they will give mario, why shouldn't they nominate it just because they couldn't already release the review?

no clue about the rest of your post. maybe they are biased, maybe it's coincidence. would be good to see the guys who were responsible in the last years and if they switch all the time or not.

Impact..borderlands? COD, Halo, BF sure..but Far cry and borderlands...no lol

SO FAKKING BIASED

These are all from Polygon when speaking to Geoff about the new show (VGX):

"This year the show's winners were told ahead of time they won so the winners could create their own acceptance videos."

"Rockstar Games are flying the entire Rockstar North development team into LA from Edinburgh, Scotland for the show."

"You'll see those running in the lead up to the show, inside the show and we will be doing game of the year as a live acceptance as well."

There's also a GTAV concert there.

And if you've taken a look at the Council Advisory that vote, there are 3 Polygon people there and 1 Official Xbox Magazine guy. (I had to throw it out there).

So there you have it folkes. Congratulations to Rockstar game.

BUT NAUGHTY DOG WAS FUCKING ROBBED, IM GONNA GO CUT MY WRISTS NOW

if gta  wins its because Microsoft, Mario 3d world should be game of the year damn.

Someone from Official Xbox Magazine has a vote? I don't really understand that. Even if he isn't biased in his voting, that still taints the appearance of impartiality. Not a good decision. Also, why does one publication have three representatives--it doesn't even matter which publication, that just doesn't seem right.

Makes it even harder to take shows like this seriously.

Of course, almost no one does, so I guess it doesn't actually matter. VGA GotY awards don't carry more weight than individual publication awards now and I doubt that will change in the future.
