According to Gfk the video game market in Brazil earned more than the UK, Germany or Spain in 2013. The growth was of 43% from 2011 to 2012 and 25% from 2012 to 2013.

"For those of you who didn't knew, Wii U hasn't came officially to Brazil until now (or any LATAM, i think)". Nope, the wiiu launched 19 december on Uruguay and 20 december on chile. Yeah, last year, almost along with the japanese launch.
Was a good event, but since brasil have almost same size as eua, was a litle sad since was only 2 days on the southern part of the country. Just wish they came again, around all the country, the ad for the event was really cool, with the mario speaking portuguese and all.

I really don´t want to start an argument, but I do believe those numbers are quite questionable, because in Brazil the mobile games market is included in that sum, while in UK, German and Spain consoles are counted as a separete market from mobile gaming.
Anyway, to the topic.
I couldn´t attend the event. It really pissed me off, because I work on Fridays and I had some appointments on Saturday, but everyone talked about it as an excellent showcase.
People really seems to be interested in WiiU right now in Brazil, it´s starting to get some space on shops, but Gaming do Brasil (who represens Nintendo here) could do a better job when pricing the device. An imported WiiU can be easily found by BRL $ 1.300 (Deluxe bundle, with Nintendoland or NSMBU+NSLU). $ 1.899 seems a little pricey, but still cheaper than Xbox1.
Geek.etc is a well known shop on Avenida Paulista. The new WiiU Mario game was flying off their shelves this week.
