Yeap me too I'm currently playing... Fuck people saying game play is meh.... I love DMC and all but ryse is hack'n and slash done right end of story.... Like you know, you actually hack and slash in that game like you are supposed too, buy pressing simple buttons and get amazing on screen results again like you are supposed to.... If I want to play street fighter meets and RPG I play DMC or boyonetta but it ain't hack'n slash... That's for sure...

so yeah people saying game play is boring are simply not hack'n slash true fans... Which is fine but don't try to spoil the fun for us by making all of them uber complex pile of crap (by hack'n slash standards of course)...

I would give that game an 8 to 8.5 if it wasn't for 3 things... A little too easy and not spectacular enough on the biss fights (I'm in soldier mod).... Executions are limited to 2 simultaneous baddies max, and the biggest one is lack of variety in enemies... A bunch of dogs at least could have been added and more original variety... But all in all I'll give it a 7.5 to 8 average with no problem...
and this leaves them with a solid base and room for improvement for future titles which is even better... A samurai one next... The only issue I can see with other era is that very few reach the level of self-righteousness and extravagance of the roman one...

The ONLY thing that I have to say is wrong in this post is this "so yeah people saying game play is boring are simply not hack'n slash true fans" while I am a HUGE hack'n slash fan. I still feel the gameplay was dull. Being a hack'n slash fan doesn't mean that we just ignore something like that. I am a HUGE Dynasty warriors, Samurai Heros, Sengoku Basara etc fan(we are the real hack'n slash fans lol). And I know those games got the scores they deserved and along with the combat complaints, BUT that doesn't change the fact that I LOVE those games and will continue to love them, have funw itht hem and purchase them...

Also I had lots of fun with Ryse and I PRAY that they continue the series and just make improvements. It was a beautiul game, with a solid setting that has lots of potential if done right the next time around!

hmmm yeah but I don't categorise DW in the same sub category as a game like Ryse... those mass destruction action RPG hack'n slash.... love them too :)

was asking about them on new gen in the Xbox nation post a few days ago (if you know anything coming I'm interested)

ryse is more close to batman, AC etc kind of gameplay imo... but more focused on the combat.... I'd actually like to see comething closer to the free flow system of batman in the next ryse so you can do combo executions on more than 2 players...

personally I haven't found the gameplay dukk un ryse just that there is room for improvemen for sure.... nothing close to broken imo though... still very enjoyable for people looking for a trus hack'n slash

The next Dynasty Warrios is all that I know of and they are supposedly going to loaclize Segoku basara 3 or 4 but I am not sure.

And YES if Ryse had that free flow system like Batman it would have been WAY better! Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the game but teh combat just didn't feel fluid enough if you ask me. But like you I enjoy games like that anyway so it was fun for me. But I can still see why it scored the way it did. When and if they doa  part two I am sure they will take the mistakes and make then game even better than what it was!

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

When I read this review a long time ago, I thought you were insane. Now, I'm enjoying this game quite a bit. It looks better than screen shots have led me to believe and the story/acting is quite impressive. Hovering at an 8.0 for me right now. Wish I'd played it earlier. Best graphics I've personally ever seen.

The only people that talk about this game are people who dont own it. It got a solid 8 / 10 from me. I enjoyed the story, combat and multiplayer. Still the best graphics of any console game.

My sweet sweet selnor :( Now I know how GAFfers feel when that Ryan Davis thread is bumped.

Yeah the game plays infinitely better than scores and forum posts would make it seem. Agree about the graphics too, they are insane.

I really hope they do a Ryse 2 eventually.

Nope graphics are second best for a console game. You should play Infamous: Second Son for the best graphics on consoles.

I did (*see sig*).  Second Son was a day one buy for me and I disagree.  But then, Second Son was open world so it's to be expected.

Just my opinion.

Infamous: Second Son looks as detailed as Ryse, but has more vibrant clours and, more importantly, runs at a significantly HIGHER RESOLUTION than Ryse.

But to know that you have to see them both on a good 1080p TV.

You quite clearly didn't if you don't think the PS4 game is superior, your sig must be lying. Your opinion is wrong and you should feel bad!

*Not serious*

It's all good, bro.  We can have differing opinions.  I think there's a lot more going on in Ryse, though.  I found myself stopping and looking at water, plants, and rocks and people's skin/armor and saying "wow".  I didn't even want Ryse.  I just got it because there was nothing else I wanted to buy and I was in the mood for a new game.  Didn't expect to be blown away.

This is the TV I game on--it's a newer version of this one:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NcH9x-ubec (mine has 3D).  It's pretty good in my opinion.

That's fine by me. But where Ryse focusses on brilliant textures and character models Infamous: Second Son shows its brilliance in the lighting and particle effects.

Btw it takes much more processing power to run the same game at a higher resolution, so ISS would have no doubt looked much better at 900p.
