Some of the new software already starts with a very bad Omen: DLCs and microtransactions. If this trend continues (it will, unfortunately) I'd consider the new generation as fail. It all becomes Pay-2-Win or Pay-twice-2-Play, which sucks ass. Hardware-wise PS4 and One can definitely set new standards and create outstanding experiences, just look at the 8GB of RAM. But in the end it's the software that fails or wins.

For every good there is also a bad... Free to Play is becoming a thing that requires more than $60 to competitive... Micro transactions are also becoming a thing... Sony is forcing people to play $60/year to play online and MS was already doing that... No backwards compatibility for the two big consoles... Games take up a shit ton of space and etc... Not everything is bad at all and there exceptions but its hard to tell at this point

Damn it I was gonna say the same!

I agree also, I can admit that I'm blinded by the PS2 generation to the point that I think I will always hold it as the best gen ever. Even if that's not true.

Considering last gen was arguably the best ever only behind perhaps the 16-bit gen, and this gen is poised to bring us more of what made last gen great, it's certainly a possibility.

Nah. Don't release a Shenmue 3. Just remake the whole damn thing and include all 16 chapters in a single package. Better if they want to make new fans. And it's the way it should have been in the first place.

Waaaaaaaay too early to say. The gen hasn't even started in earnest yet, with most multi-platform games still being made for PS3/360.

All 16 chapters in one game/package? blimey, it would be the worlds longest campaign, and by one hell of a margin too.

I don't want Yu Suzuki cutting huge chunks out of his vision and story just to put all 16 chapters in to one package.

Shunmue put SEGA at the time on life support. (well, all those "gamers" neglecting the Dreamcast played just as much of a part in my eyes)

Releasing everything all at once would be instant death.
