Forums - Sony - No PS4's for the rest of the year in North America

I don't know about other retailers but I imagine they are mostly doing the same thing. Gamestop I know is sitting on consoles till Black Friday because the idea is once u are in the store for all the sales you will buy a lot more.

We don't have any idea if and or when we will get more after that tho. My bet is on we will, but far fewer allocations going forward (6 or so for my store)

the problem here is that you listen to a GS employee lol

im not saying its gonna be easy to get one this year or even jan-mar 2014 but as others have said BF all retailers will get them walmart is even selling PS4s on BF with and extra accessory and game for $400 if you camp thursday night you can get a PS4 but you have to camp early

if you cant get a PS4 on BF your best bet is target thats where i got mine on launch day after missing them at BB and GS most people dont think to go to a target for video game stuff so its last on there list go on there website and use store locator call each one and ask if they have one in some cases they'll even hold one for you

PS4 will be hard to get this year but its possible to get one but you have to do work on your end

I just got an email from ToysRUs that they will have limited quantities of Xbone and Ps4 bundles available at 12:01 tonight.

These are shortages caused on purpose, I tell you! But being Sony what we're talking about, they didn't do it for teh hype, they did it for teh LULZ!

A bit off-topic but when is PS4 coming to HK?

I see imported US PS4 on the shelves here in Beijing but they are priced at 3 000($500) RMB, and the HK PS4 was said to cost 2 500($400) RMB, so I rather wait.

I've been asking a few Best Buys and they all told me the same thing: a few on black Friday, and next shipment in December.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

If you dont have a preorder you are pretty much fucked at Gamestop for a while. They'll have shipments, just not for you.

There will be shipments probably throughout December, but I expect there will be very few available. Sony will probably reassess what they can realistally ship a week after the Europe launch.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

There are two things at play here.

First, the last generation was so long that there is pent up demand from core gamers for new consoles.

Second, manufacturing of PS4 started probably around September and they simply don't have the supply required for the holiday + pent up energy for a new console demand.

Dec 17th.

Most stores in HK just stock US/Jap imports, though. But I'm guessing you'll be ordering online.

Weirdest thing about HK is that I could never find a gaming store, or even an electronics store that had more than a few games (and if it did, handheld only). Only place you can find games is in the indoor game markets... and, yeah, all imports
