Maxwell's post inspired me to write this.. Please leave your story about how knowledgable/retarded your local gaming store employee.

 

as for me, I personally work at bestbuy (I work at the back, but I do come to the front if they are busy), 2 of the gamers don't even play games nor own any console. But they do know their consoles. I personally know more about games than they do, but it's not like they'd tell their customer that 80GB PS3 has no BC. ;)

And all of them are pretty fair toward all consoles in front of the customers.

Although I have to agree, despite working at Bestbuy, I shop for games at Futureshop, they have the cutest gaming girl there, and I always make an effort to talk to her. We've become quite good friends.

My friend called BB to ask when there would be wii's, the guy said Thursday. Thursday, he calls & a new lady says they wouldn't get any for 2 weeks. Sunday I go to BB to get a new DS, & I saw someone purchase a wii. Does that answer your question?

to answer your question. no, Bestbuy employee doesn't know when they will get any product, also, Nintendo randomly drops off Wiis to stores.

 

"Tuesday and Thursday"= then Bestbuy stores get a truck of supply, nobody really knows what's in there

"wont for 2 weeks" = normally they have "in transit" on the system, but not with Wii, so she probably thought it means they won't be getting any anytime soon. 

I know you are angry, but it's just the way it is. I still haven't been able to get a Wii myself and I work there.

I edited my post with more info. Yeah, it sucks, whenever people call me about Wii, I just tell them to check their Thursday night flyers, and if Wii is in the flyer, come lineup in the morning on Friday.

We sold about 37 Wiis in 20 minutes.

Not at all. My friend and I had to explain to Gamestop employees that Unreal Tournament 3 will not be on 360. They still have a 360 mockup box displayed.

I once had an argument about Metroid Prime with a Gamestop employee. He insisted that Metroid Prime was going to appear on Xbox and that Microsoft made Samus. I almost hit him seriously...

Looking back at that thread, half of the posts are between us debating about "newer." And then max pops in with his no BC and everyone directs their attention to him.

Most of the stores near me, that sell games, don't really have people that play games. There's so many games that I've tried to get on launch day, and they ask if it's on the "nintendo playstation." There's one store near my place that's a used game store, run buy a guy that's fantastic and he only hires knowledgeable people. I really enjoy going there.
