Xbox One

So I got my Xbox One on November 22nd and I think I have to share my thoughts about it and especially Ryse.

Ever since its reveal, the Xbox One had an uphill battle to fight. I won't go into detail about how the Xbox One became the console it is now, you know that anyway.

So I got my Xbox One on Friday and played the heck out of it for the past 4 days, because I even took 2 days off from work for this machine. So many people talk so much bullshit about this console, even or especially on this site. Every minor detail suddenly becomes a major game changer. The reality is oh so different.

The OS is quite simple the best one out there for any gaming machine. It is fluid and works like a dream. The party chat works as perfect as always and Skype on your Xbox One with Kinect is just incredible. So this turned out to be bs: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5755541

The voice control work AT LEAST 90% of the times I used them. Very accurate and a huge improvement over the Xbox 360. Saying "Xbox, Bing, I want to watch an Action movie" will show a huge selection of Action movies you can watch instantly, no matter what you are currently doing on this machine. For example you are playing Dead Rising 3, the game will pause and show you the movies you searched for. This is so much faster and better than navigating with your controller. After the movie you can go back to the game and keep playing. The multitasking works flawless and very smooth.

The controller feels perfect. You don't have to learn entirely new things with it, but the little details and improvements are outstanding.

Ryse

I am 4-5 hours into Ryse right now and so far, it is one of the best games I have played in the past years. What exactly are these reviewers hating on?

The story is told in a great way, the combat is intense and the visuals are simply the best you can find on any console ever created. Some people criticised that there are so many QTE and execution moves, but believe me, when you play on the right difficulty, you can't wait for these executions to happen. You have to do quite a lot of damage to your enemy to get the chance to do this execution / QTE. And when time this right, you will get health, focus, more damage output or XP (depending on your skilltree) as a reward. So when you don't have much health left and still have a couple of enemies to fight, you will gladly use the execution and QTE.

I don't get why some online kidz try so hard to hate on this game. This is clearly one of those titles that never even had the chance to succeed right from the start.

I am really enjoying this game. IMO this is the best Crytek game yet.

So, I could not be happier with the console and the games I got so far. I will try to beat Ryse today and then I am going to play Dead Rising 3 and I can't wait for it. There was so much FUD spread about this game and the console, that just becomes ridiculous after you actually experienced it by yourself.

Reviewers are hatting on Ryse for the same reason they hate on so many other games, its not a shooter and multiplayer is weak, wich for me is a hughe plus. Everyone who plays Ryse likes it, heck everyoen who plays Knak likes it but reviewers need to remove points for lack of open worldness, not beeing a shooter and having weak multiplayer cause theyre stupid.

I agree. Everyone that has come to my house agrees. Its a cinematic gameplay experience. If this game was on PS4 it would have got praise to no end. Its like only cinematic games are okay on PS consoles. But yet Ryse is the best cinematic game Ive ever had the pleasure to play. Including the Uncharteds and TLOU of this world.

I don't care what Some fans will say to this. Or what reviews say. Sony need to match Ryse for me in a cinematic experience to try and draw me in. Because Ryse was fantastic from start to finish.

On Xbox Live it lets you review out of 5 stars. Xbox gamers have been notoriously harsh in the past rating Gears of War Judgement a average of 3.

Ryse is sitting at 4.5 stars with over 6,000 reviews so far.

The game is 100% brilliant. Never before have I seen a discrepancy so big between Live review scores and media.

The combat system is meh, very repetitive. Outside of Hard difficulty which most people play on normal it offers no excitement what so ever. The story has no character development but it also has a decent story.

This is why people are hating on it. I liked it personally but I also dont think it should be praised. Crytek needs to learn how to write a better story. Ryse had potential but failed when it came to giving you reasons to care about any of the characters.

While I dont agree with a 60 rating it sure wouldnt give it much higher.  Personal opinion from me I'd give it a 7/10

no no no, you have no idea what cinematic experience means. And with 61 on Metacritic Sony dont need to do anything to match that and you need to play more games.

Um yes they do. Many people already think Ryse is a great game. I dont care for reviews.

Ive played alot Killzone, and think that SF deserves a much higher rating also.

I dont acually agre. I was drawn in to Marius Titus charater, and especially King Oswald and Commodus

Your 6 friends know better, ok. Next time a game releases we'll ask them..who cares about reviews. Saying Ryse is better than TLOU and Uncharted is ridiculous to say the least.

Why?

I bought all Uncharteds and TLOU. Got through 81%of TLOU and traded it for GTA5. Completed the first 2 Unchateds but stopped 3 3 quaters through. My PSN ID Selnor1983.

As a cinematic experience, I enjoyed Ryse more. Reviews are fast becoming redundant. I wont simply not choose Xbox One because of reviews. After Ryse I'll always buy a Crytek game until they disappoint me.

Im on my second playthrough and still loving it just as much. Poor BF4, Forza 5 and Fifa 14 arent getting a look in at the moment.
