Forums - Gaming - I had the dumbest argument about Console Exclusives, today...

I had a feeling that this was a PC guy. I hear this sort of thing a lot from them (I play on PC too). It makes no sense to me...powerful hardware is important but only because it allows developers to make better software. It's an odd argument to say the least.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

^ ^ Don't know what happened there, but you should still get the point. ;)

My mistake, I forgot all about the MLB games.  Though you forgot that GH2 and TCAVWF are not available on PS3.

As to your point about 90, you have to make the cut off somewhere.  My favourite X360 game is Fable, which comes in at 89

Either way, the OP's wording is woefully inaccurate when presented as face

People are very passionate about gaming and their beloved consoles, to the point of being religious. It's usually a waste of time to argue with a religious fanatic, because he is not interested in learning, he only wants to assimmilate his views onto you.

I suppose we all do it to some extend.

Believe me my friend, I'm surrounded by these kind of idiots who refuse to admit that they were wrong. not just when arguing consoles stuff, but also religion, politics, family, and even work.

I had an argument with one of my friends who refuses to believe that Halo is an exclusive Xbox franchise!!!!

My theory here is that at some point, they knew they were wrong, but too stubborn to admit it. So the best thing for you (and your mental health :) ), is to stop arguing when you sense that they are starting to make no sense.

Yep. "Same quality, more quanity" would be a much better argument.

But personally, I would make the cut off at 75. Essentially every game worth a second look, not just must-by titles.

I have the same feeling. He must be a PC guy and can't afford to play the many great exclusive games on consoles.

That's why he is so pissed consoles exclusives just only dare to exist... and he can't play them.

It could be argued if you're a PC gamer, you generally have more disposable income anyway.
Besides, the PC has plenty of exclusives, more so than any singular console platform anyhow.

What it should boil down to is tastes in games, which should then influence your decision to buy into a particular platform.
For instance, I won't be buying a Playstation 4 because in general none of Sony's exclusives appeal to me.
A few appeal to me on the ole' Xbox like Halo and Fable, but it pretty much stops there.

Fair enough. But last generation fortunately was so full of great games across both HD consoles that few people had the time and money to play a fraction of them!

Great advice. However, it would mean that the threads here would be very short. :)

Considering that PS3 has only one exclusive game at its Top 10 best sellers (GT5), and the 360 has 4 of a single franchise (Halo), I wouldn´t say your friends arguments are stupid.

I know many people that bought the PS3 because of the BluRay and the 360 because Kinect Dance and Fitness. These are "exclusive" features and they sell consoles just as exclusive games.

As hard is for some here to belive, a lot o people will buy the Xbox One because o TV integration and Kinect gimicks.

PS: I almost forgot about the Wii Fitness.
