Forums - PC - Star Citizen raises an incredible $30m

Woo! I have spent far too much money on this game... but many others have spent plenty more. The average pledge is getting close to $100

The main part is that I should be able to play bits of the game in the next month even if the actual game is not coming out for ages

The only real problem with it is the "glorious master pc gaming race" community. Which has now got even worse with the "this game changes the way that all games are going to be made for ever" community that hates publishers as well as all console games

Wow shattering!

The news about this game's funding is enough advertisement for the game lol.

Yeah, there are some forum threads suggesting that one of the stretch goals in the future should be to spend some money on advertising, but it really doesn't seem to need it

If this game gets shitty reviews, there is gonna be a HUGE meltdown.

It will have been in testing by the community for a year by the time "it comes out"

Bad advertising by the community that already paid for a project they trusted would be the worse.

My point is, with enough time and feedback they surely can't help but make it good?

I love how this game rakes in millions even though it hasn't even been released yet :D

I myself bought a 75$ pledge months ago and am very excited about the game.

2 million and 1 million for adding a new ingame digital spacecraft?

Maybe with 5 million more they are able to make an extended main menu soundtrack.

It took 4 years and a shitload of money for FFXIV, they don't have either. (smaller game, tough)

But it can't go very far without the fans "checking it"
