Forums - Gaming - Are people serious ? Oo (Next gen graphics)

For quite a time now by reading people comments and reviews, I was convinced that the next gen wasn't that impressive. Since I did not have time to check myself, I almost believed it. Because, yeah, this the overall tendance you can read/hear/smell everywhere on the internet : The gap between the PS360 and the next gen sucks

If everyone are saying the gap isn't that impressive, you got to believe them right ? Why would everyone lie about it ?

Fortunately, I got some time yesterday. I checked fact myself at friend's house, a friend who owns a PS4.

I will say it this way : I have never seen something that great in my whole gaming life. Nothing is close to it, NOTHING. You have to see it in action, because even youtube videos (and graphics are already great on them) can't come close to it. Everything is beautiful, really. There's no aliasing, despite the huge number of polygons and high level of texture. There is no clipping anymore despite the vast level. The lightning effects are AMAZING. Everything looks smooth and beautiful... And finally, for the first time since PS3 launch I can say that the face look like something.

This title is one of the first on the next gen and is already that tempting in terms of graphics... So, I think it's safe if I say that this generaton is going to be fantastic graphics wise.

I have a lot of friends who are into high end pc technology, I have quite a keen eye for graphics problem myself, I use to watch movie on blu ray and on the bigger screen the market can offer. I'm pretty hard on graphism myself and can say this to you : If I compare GTAV, The Last of us, God of war Ascension (who are to me, the best looking exclusives this gen has) to Shadow fall, the gap between this gen and the next one is almost similar to the gap between PS2 graphics and PS3 graphics.

Killzone shadow fall made me realise another thing about internet : Never believe people on it, NEVER. Everything is highly melted in conflicts of interest of just full of incomptent idiot.

What about the gameplay? Was it any good?

Never played on a PC before? My laptop has been doing these kind of graphics for a while now.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

8 years ago next gen was made on machines that would cost 600-800 dollars to produce

this gen the new machines cost 300-400 under the same criteria

consider that with inflation it should have been 650-850

Tbh this gen is not as great of a leap as last gen.

It's hard to see the improvement to some extent on online videos. If you were to ask me to judge from an internet video standpoint I would say that the improvement is okayish. In person I expect it to be much different.

Ba-dum-tsss.

Intel core i7 930 OC @ 4.0 ghz

XFX Double dissipation Radeon HD 7950 356 bit 3gb GDDR5 OC @ 1150 MHz core + 1575 x 4 memory

Triple channel DDR 3 12gb RAM 1600 MHz

i played uncharted 1 i remember when people said those graphics were good now they look so old " still a fun game" but the graphics have really changed!

Hm, yea this gen might have a problem with conveying their superiority compared to last gen due to youtube (or similar sites) videos using a lot of compression, which obscures the finer details, that can have a big impact on overall image quality.

Meh. Graphics have looked good since the gamecube/xbox/ps2 era. It's all about gameplay and unique controls for me. I like counting on getting to play with a different variety of controllers (to make the games more interesting) each generation which is one of many reasons why I go with Nintendo consoles/handhelds. I've been bored with traditional controllers for a while and I really don't understand why so many other people don't get bored constantly pushing a button to shoot/slash people but whatever.
