The DS is selling at a higher rate then the PS2 in the same time frame. The PS2 just happened to have a larger bump in it's second year.

This can never end good.

I'll just say the DS had a slower start in the US for some reason compared to other regions. I even think the PSP was winning in the US at some point. Or at least the DS was kicking butt and taking names like it is now.

yeah, i keep reading how the ds took longer to be picked up in america because the gba was still selling well when the ds released...

but if you look at the 3rd year for the ds, its selling faster than the ps2 ever did...who knows if that will continue or not.

How stupid are you? You are right, it doesn't beat PS2...in America! It's winning in both of the other territories. In Japan, it has already passed PS2. It is tracking ahead of the PS2 worldwide.
Plus, not being able to beat the PS2 isn't exactly a big deal. I mean, it is only the best selling game system ever.
