Forums - Nintendo - If you´re already playing Mario 3D World, tell me..has it earned its place in your pantheon of the greatest Mario games?

We´ve got a lot of Mario platformers, both 2D and 3D...of all the Mario games you´ve played, how does the plumber´s latest adventure compare to them?

Does it belong in your personal pantheon of the greatest Mario games?..if the answer is yes, what´s its position?

yes! i love it. although it's not as good as the Galaxy games (obviously, those are some of the best, if not, the best games of all time), it's better than 64, Sunshine, and 3D Land.
the reason i say it's not as good as the Galaxy games is because it's somewhat shorter, and a lot more linear.
however, it's still an amazing game. the multiplayer is pretty damn cool.

So, I take it you´d put it as the 3rd greatest Mario game you´ve ever played, behind Mario Galaxy 1 and 2..

I'm not done. I'm TRYING to only do one world per day but it's hard. I got up at 4am and played it last night. I'm already one world ahead of where I wanted to be.

It's too early to decide but it's already ahead of all of the NSMB games and Sunshine. I replayed Mario All Stars and, sadly, those games that I thought were timeless are finally beginning to lose their luster. Same for Mario World. I got it for Wii U and finished the Forest of Illusion and quit playing.

I'm gonna say that, despite being wowed at every conrner, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are still better. Mario 64 was better for its time but isn't as awe inspiring as it once was, either. I'll have to make a list sooner or later.

galaxies are better, but this thing wows me at every turn, nintendo is using some voodoo magic with the visuals.

So, sexy man, please feel free to return to this thread when you decide and tell us your opinion.

It is definetly a masterpiece. I would put it as the 3rd best Mario platformer behind both galaxies. It's just that good!

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

So far, five people still have Galaxy as the best one.Nintendo really set the bar high with that one.
