I have just decided to add Super Mario Cats to my big list o' games to get! That's quite the turnaround considering I was planning on skipping over this game before it was even officially announced! So firstly, I'm not a super huge fan of Mario platformers, only buying his games every so often. However, last year I got both SM3DL and NSMB2, as it has been 5 years since my last Mario game being Galaxy, and so I wanted to play both 2D and 3D. So as you can imagine, I was pretty burnt out on Mario after playing these two games, especially NSMB2. That million coin challenge was quite the let down no lie!
I always knew SM3DW was a great n fun game as I played it myself at E3, but that was with other people. I highly doubt my friends would wanna play this game, and even if they do, it wouldn't be on a regular basis, so either way I'd have to play the game almost entirely by myself. So combine that with the fact that I'm not too big on Mario and how I just got a double dosage of him, and you can see why I wasn't interested in buying this game at first.
Now what changed my mind of all a sudden? Well it's been almost five months since E3, and asside from some LittleBigPlanet here and there, I haven't played a platformer in a good while. Then I recently played the demo for Sonic Lost World, and realized that I haven't played a 3D platformer since well, 3D Land, which again was over a year ago now.
Basically I've come to the conclusion that I'm simply hungry for more platformers, specifically 3D ones. Because of that it's no surprise that I found myself playing 3D Land again yesterday. That was when I realized I should buy 3D World. Like I said, my main issue with 3D World was that it wouldn't be as fun playing it by myself. However, 3D Land pretty much debunks that theory, which is funny seeing how I was using 3D Land as a point to why 3D World would be good sauce after the E3 reveal. I guess I had just forgotten, which is understandable considering how short the game is and how I started playing NSMB2 immediately after.
So yeah, Super Mario Cats will be one of the first games I get whenever I go and buy a Wii U!
