I thought about that, too.  My guess is, despite them saying otherwise, Nintendo does react to what the competition is doing--and it is indeed a competition.

This whole thread is silly. Wait for MC numbers next week. And expect very strong sales ( by Wii U standards).

I think the main reason is that (because of cod/gta)people got used to "1st day sales are the ultimate indicator for success",simply ignoring or not knowing that Nintendo games are more of a long distance runner than a sprinter.Low average speed but running a much longer distance.

As we don't know how much 100% is ,we can't tell wether the 20% a big or small.(a 100%  w101 with only 30.00copies produced is still a flop while 20% of 2 mio is pretty good)

more important for nintendo is how they will compete in the west.Wether they 'll get the needed attention for good sales or be buried by ps4 hype and huge xb1 marketing or )

I'd say it will even sell less than a cheap gta5 port for ps4/x1

Let's face off. This numbers doesn't bode well. I mean, why do you need to know shipments? 20% first day sellthrough just points to one of the next two escenarios:

- People are not enough hot for 3DWorld to wait for later
- People doesn't care for Wii U and its games anymore

3D Land opened with 343k. 3D World expectations are half of those numbers. Even selling as high as 3D Land FW and shipments cleared with an 100% sellthrough will mean that first day numbers are 68k. Not hot.

Now, imagine 343k is first day/20% sellthorugh. Yeah, a 2m shipment. That's not going to happen.
