Forums - Sony - Imported PS4 (Not by Sony) Already In Brasil From R$ 2.100 (~US$900)

The price you saw week ago for Wii U was imported by the stores and not official..

Nintendo sends to the stores, like sony is doing to ps4, they offer 12 months warranty from manufactor, the only "official" is xbone, cuz its being manufactured here, so does you mean ps4 costing 4000 reais in the stores are not official? cuz they are imported by the stores too, its not manufactured here

PS: Even without the discount, paying full price (1900 reais) its still 2100 reais cheaper than ps4, while they only have 100USD of difference, it shouldn't cost more than 2200 reais here, that's why i'm upset with sony, with all that talk they would try to bring ps4 for less than 1000 reais, then BOOM, its costing 4x more.

Ok.

I will explain to you.

Before November: Wii U sold here was not official by Nintendo... the stores imported by themselves... so the price was below R$1500 and in some place close to R$1000.

After November: Wii U is now official by Nintendo (imported)... R$1900 with some deals to R$1800 or R$1700... the others Wii U in stores below R$1500 are stocks from the non-official importer (not Nintendo).

The non-official Wii U didn't have 12 months warranty but only what the store give to you (3-6 months).

I will use a non-official importer (Sony) to buy my PS4 like the Wii U was sold here before November... ~$2200.

Edit

This is the official Wii U (imported by Nintendo) here: http://www.submarino.com.br/produto/116575113/console-wii-u-black-deluxe-32-gb-game-new-super-mario-bros-u-e-new-super-luigi-gamepad

i guess you misunderstood, the stores i listed weren't selling wii u consoles before november, just some wii u games from ubisoft, warner etc.

submarino, saraiva, extra, ricardo eletro opened their pre-order after nintendo's announcement, and you could buy with 20% of discount paying in cash, that's why you could buy for 1500 reais, and it's official, cuz it says 12 months of warranty from manufactor, and the distributor is gamingofbrazil, i've bought one to my lil cousin for 1574 reais, i just gotta wait til 26 november to pick up, unfortunately i can't do this with ps4, it's so expensive, and i don't trust buying a sony console in the gray market, the first wave they send to the stores always presents failures, ps1 with driver problem,ps2 and ps3 dying for overheating, there're some cases of ps4 dying with a hdmi problem.

i'll wait and hope they change their mind, otherwise i'll replace it with a pc.

Will give you the same advice I gave ethomaz... buy it directly from US (like Amazon or any other that deliver here) with international warranty... or look through PS+ for the extended warranty, just confirm if PS Brasil cover your console even when bought abroad or if you do a PS US account you have to ship back or just show the recipe... that is if you want to buy a PS4 but don't want to take risk, or if you are just here to attack the console, like your low post count and almost all of them being here and antagonizing suggest.

Ohhhh I get... you are talking about deals... you can buy the PS4 on Submarino with 10% off too (R$3500)... the official price is still R$1900 and R$4000.

In the gray market you can buy a Wii U at R$1100 or PS4 at R$2100.

Now I'll have to doubt the honesty of the grey markers... how the US$100,00 difference translate to RS$1.000,00 seems like they do the same accountability of Sony when Ninty is 1900 and PS4k =]

I have doubt about the honesty of Sony Brasil with PS4k ... no importer I tryied paying all the taxes can make the PS4 cost R$4000.

The Gray Market is confuse some times because there are a lot of supply sources:

  • Paraguay... I checked and the PS4 is sold there by $700... so the importer have to added his profits too
  • Miami paying the taxes... importer have to added his profits too
  • Miami not-paying the taxes and the passing the customs houses... importer have to added his profits too
  • Miami not-paying the taxes but the customs houses got you (you need to pay the taxes + fine)... importer have to added his profits too

PS. Miami I mean from any US city.

So the price is way variable.

I have no doubt about their lack of honesty in this case... the rumours are just too juicy to ignore...

Yep there are a lot of routes to buy it... but even so RS$ 1.000,00 difference between WiiU and PS4 in grey market is big... but we know that its because they can have a stead supply of WiiU to sell and whant a premium on the PS4 (in Paraguay as well), if in eBay the average price is US$600,00 then paraguay is about right at US$ 700,00
