Thats it, Ima rent Ninjabread man today... this looks kinda cool, it can't be that bad.

Seriously, I think Nintendo should introduce somesort of quality control as parents who are buying games for their kid don't know Ninjabread man is horrible.

Some child will grow up with ninjabread man and Rapalla's Tournament Fishing being the cornerstone of his gaming taste.

third parties don't feel the need to spend good money to use their top team to make games for Wii, if they can use their 3rd team and still make the game sell.

If you count Mario and Sonic a 3rd party game. with First party characters and Nintendo's supervising.

 You're right, it's because they are so used to reviewing the same type of shooters, racers and sports titles that ahve been repackaged and renamed so have nothing else to compare the new style of Wii games to.

 All this change is confusing some poor reviewers!

I think that the Wii games aren't that good cause their either 3rd party crap or stupid casual gamer crap.

Also for the last time people need to realize why third party software isn't moving as much. It sucks! The ones that try (GH3, RE4, RRR) will get good sales.

The casuals that are flocking to the Wii don't care about first vs. third party. They don't know developers or publishers. If a quality game is released and advertised then it'll sell regardless of it being 3rd party. These casuals jump on Smash Bros and Mario not because they like "Nintendo" games. But because they know those series usually are guaranteed to be solid. If Super Mario Galaxy had been made by Conspiracy (look up shovelware and you'll see their logo) it would've still had amazing sales (maybe not the same legs once word got around about how bad it would be.....).

I agree, but have to point out that, even for a CRAPPY game, if they get advertise enough on TV, casual games won't know enough about it and still buy those. Hence there really isn't a huge incentive to spend a lot of money to make great games.

Well the N64 did have the highest acclaimed games of its gen and woudl have scored higher on metacritics than the PS1/saturn if they had it back than. However in terms of shear number of games that ranged from awesome to pretty damned good the PS1 owned the N64 through in all the shovel ware on the PS1 and it brings the average score down. No compound that with hardcore reviewers rating casual games adn you have thrown a monkeywrench into the whole metacritic/games ranking thing. Pretty soon the Shovelware on the Wii will be outselling the average titles on the other systems.
