I so wanted to like this game. Just wasn't my thing, though I highly recommend it to others.

Be aware though that you'll need to complete the demo two or more times before you 'get it'.

A great, long game 8/10
I expected Wonderful 101 to be a game targetted to children, however once I read the pre-reviews I learned that it is a very deep game, with a complex combat system. The game is beautiful, makes decent use of the WiiU gamepad, and is tremendously long (9.5 operations, each operation being 3 segments). The game does get slightly repetitive with enemies and sequences but is completely worth your time and attention! Also, as you mentioned, I had issues differentiating the hammer, bomb, whip, claws.

It really is a good game and I fully intent to actually buy a copy once I can hopefully afford to in the next couple months. Nintendo honestly released it too close to Pikmin 3, and didn't really give it any kind of real promotion or advertising, outside of a Nintendo Direct video that only hardcore fans are really going to watch anyway.

It deserves more people to give it a look, as it is genuinely unique, and genuinely fun.

If I can get through it, anyone can! 

Makes me feel better about Rol telling me that Fire Emblem: Awakening was a 78% game.

He's still going to burn in hell for poking fun at my childhood. I can tell when he's in stealth troll mode. :P

W101 is a good game. It was interesting to discover new game mechanics all the way to the end. One major flaw of this game are its visuals, the art style is boring and looks childish. Not in a "good" Mario Style childish way but only childish and unimaginative. And the game was sometimes very repetitive.
