So I've noticed lately that MS has been making all kinds of vague promises.
This thread is meant to highlight that strategy by compiling these promises in one place.
1. On upcoming unannounced games
"But I look at the next 18 to 24 months, and really on a month by month basis, you're going to have something you can go out and play," he said. "It's not really a portfolio plan that way, but when I look at the way the portfolio is laying out ... I think people are going to be happy with the lineup that's coming. And I haven't even mentioned when Halo is coming or some of the big mega franchises."
Instead, look toward Spike's VGX awards presentation, airing Dec. 7, where Spencer said, "We'll have some things to say there." From there, next year's Game Developers Conference and E3 will likely be where the majority of Xbox One announcements will hit.
"We've got a lot of news," Spencer said. "Frankly, we've got enough news that our E3 would be a little overloaded if we kept everything for that. We're being real thoughtful about the news that people want to hear and also the right time to announce games so that we're not too early."

"The Microsoft exec acknowledged that people are asking for this type of functionality and that his company is still giving thought to the idea of digital game sharing. “We’d love to figure out how to bring that back. I still think it was a good idea. Maybe it was a little too soon for some people, but I still think there were a lot of good ideas in there. And we’ll bring it back when the time is right.”"
""It’s also about cloud processing and AI. This is where some of the computational effort of a game can be offloaded to the dedicated CPUs on the cloud, to make your game experience even better, better graphics, better lighting, better physics.
This is an example of where we think the the cloud is going to push the next generation of game development in new and creative ways, that will make the experience even more better.""
4. On free games for xbox one
We have brought you word that Microsoft’s “Games with Gold” program for Xbox 360 owners will now be extended to include the Xbox One, although this will happen only sometime next year. Larry Hryb’s Twitter feed made this particular announcement, where the Xbox Live director of programming mentioned, “Great news: Access to free games each month is coming for Xbox Live Gold members on #XboxOne – Details coming later in 2014.”

6. On resolution
"Ryse: Son of Rome has been confirmed as running at 1080p on Xbox One, and the game has received three new clips showing off a some violent execution moves. Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg confirmed the the game runs in native 1080p over on Twitter: @deaconblade I can only speak for our games, I know Ryse and Forza will be native 1080p. "

7. On support for Japan
Harrison: If that was your take-out, that was not intentional. You will see at E3 games from four continents—three, well, yeah, three and a big continent. You will see, throughout the rest of the year, between now and launch, a number of occasions where we will tell a more local story that is customized and more regionalized, but this, by necessity, had to be a more global message. Since we were doing it here in Tokyo
People DO understand that Microsoft has some of the smartest graphics programmers IN THE WORLD. We CREATED DirectX, the standard API’s that everyone programs against. So while people laude Sony for their HW skills, do you really think we don’t know how to build a system optimized for maximizing graphics for programmers? Seriously? There is no way we’re giving up a 30%+ advantage to Sony. And ANYONE who has seen both systems running could say there are great looking games on both systems. If there was really huge performance difference – it would be obvious.
I get a ton of hate for saying this – but it’s been the same EVERY generation. Sony claims more power, they did it with Cell, they did it with Emotion Engine, and they are doing it again. And, in the end, games on our system looked the same or better.
I’m not saying they haven’t built a good system – I’m merely saying that anyone who wants to die on their sword over this 30%+ power advantage are going to be fighting an uphill battle over the next 10 years…
9. On streaming 360 and xbox1 games
"When that happens, you're going to have a really interesting conversation around that; can I actually run Xbox One games that way as well."
When asked about Sony's plans to use the cloud-based Gaikai service to make older PlayStation titles run on the PlayStation 4, Penello said, "I'll be really interested to see how our friends [at Sony] deal with this problem. But I can tell you, it's totally possible. We like it, we're fans of the cloud. We're not shy about that."
10. On bringing back illumiroom
There was much hubbub on this front following the oddly timed release of a proof-of-tech video in April, but alas - the prospect of a gameworld that projects beyond the TV screen appears off the menu for the moment, as the supporting technology is simply too expensive. Having said that, Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer has been caught off guard by enthusiasm for IllumiRoom, and appears to be reconsidering his options. "I get asked about this so much, I wonder if it would be worth setting up a demo at a show like this and seeing what people think,"
11. On indie gaming
“We want to make the television screen a home for more content, diversity of business model, size of content,” he explains. “Look at 360 and our history investing in games like Braid, Limbo, Castle Crashers and Trials. I think the team has done a nice job of identifying small indie developers and bringing those games to Xbox.”

12. On 'going super-saiyan'
“In the future, we plan to open up more options to developers to access this GPU reservation time while maintaining full system functionality.
“Xbox One has a conservative 10% time-sliced reservation on the GPU for system processing. This is used both for the GPGPU processing for Kinect and for the rendering of concurrent system content such as snap mode.
“We’ve chosen to let title developers make the trade-off of resolution versus per-pixel quality in whatever way is most appropriate to their game content. A lower resolution generally means that there can be more quality per pixel. With a high quality scaler and anti-aliasing and render resolutions such as 720p or ’900p’, some games look better with more GPU processing going to each pixel than to the number of pixels; others look better at 1080p with less GPU processing per pixel.
