Nah GPS isn't very accurate in height unless you have extra stationary signals setup on site.
What I imagine this is, is a gps recording of someone driving the track, which is then played back in GT6. I've done that plenty of times myself testing out car navigation systems. Test and record in the field, then play back in the office to iron out the bugs. That looked like pong compared to this though.
It's cool if you have access to a real race track featured in GT6, otherwise kinda pointless. Maybe they can use it to replay actual races, drive against a ghost replay of a real racer.
