Xbox One won't support Twitch broadcasting until "the first part" of 2014

Twitch application will allow Xbox One owners to view live streams in the meantime.

Live broadcasting to streaming site Twitch from the Xbox One will be arriving in 2014, Microsoft said today, with the company saying it is aiming to add the feature in "the first part" of the year. The PlayStation 4 currently supports broadcasting directly to Twitch.

When the Twitch Xbox One application first launches, Microsoft says, Xbox Live Gold users will be able to watch any broadcast on the live streaming video service. The Twitch application will also integrate into the Xbox OneGuide, and make use of the console's Snap and instant switching features.

I remember when Twitch was being heralded as a huge difference between Ps4's lowly recording service and the superior xbox live offering. Now xb1 doesn't even have it?

That's the ironic thing for me too. Twitch streaming was used alot to bolster the Xbones features back in June and since Sony announced it too, suddenly no ones talking about it. Now MS won't even have it at launch, very weird.

I wonder if its a streaming quality issue. PS4 suffers from extremely poor stream quality. If a delay means actual HD streams it would be worth the wait.

IGN did a video today titled "Our first weekend with PS4" where they had great things to say about the console as well as Twitch streaming.

Based on what?!  I have used it and me and my friends noticed no "Quality" problems with my videos...

I'm pretty sure that ststream quality is entirely dependent on the console quality. Keep reaching for straws.

Stream quality on ps4 depends on your connection i think. Also this is weird when ms revealed the xbox one they mentioned twitch streaming. At ps4 reveal they mentioned ustream....now xbox one doesnt support twitch or any streaming for that matter...

Im glad that the streaming is working great on ps4...ita had a massive impact on pc gaming over the last few years.
