Forums - Sony - The Legend Of Heroes: Trails In The Flash Brings Falcom Big Profits

http://www.siliconera.com/2013/11/13/legend-heroes-trails-flash-brings-falcom-big-profits/

Falcom posted a net profit of 435 million yen ($4.3 million) in the past fiscal quarter. This was a huge boost, a 101.1% increase compared to the same period last year. The main reason for this is The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash, the PlayStation 3/PS Vita RPG came out in September and was a big hit for Falcom.

Falcom also adjusted their overall fiscal forecast upwards due to the success of the latest Trails game. The company expects to 1.9 billion yen in net sales, 700 million yen in operating profit, and 460 million yen in net sales.

My Two Cents....

Hopefully this means this game is more likely to get localized and faster :)

These games aren't going to get localized quickly. If trails in the sky 2 doesn't sell I'm not certain this will ever come over, because they're so text heavy and time consuming. Xseed has pretty much stated this.

However, skipping some entries might Mean this would have a chance of coming over.

I would rather they skip all the 2D ones. The Trails in the Sky sequels are stand alone stories anyway. It doesn't HAVE to be told in order to complete the story. I think this new 3D one has a far stronger chance of being successful in the West. If they localized "Flash" and it does well, they can do the other ones as it can sell a bit off of brand recognition.

Trails in the Sky would have done a lot better if it hadn't launched on PSP so damn late in its life, at a time where PSP was all but completely dead in US.

At least both the First and Second chapter is coming to Steam. I have the first chapter on the PSP but I'll likely double dip for the steam version of both the First and Second chapter.

Hope this gets localized in 2 years time I guess.
