Forums - Gaming Discussion - Old Smash Bros 64 Review: Terrible Game That Will Never Succeed

^well....I'd like to see what he would say about his review now!

Around the Network

For the record, the original SSB had a Gamerankings score of 80.2.
The Electric Playground review was no only the lowest -- it was the only review below 75.
Interestingly, Nintendo Power only gave the game a 7.7 -- ranking only higher than the Electric Playground and Gamespot.
Metacritic shows similar trends with a metascore of 79 (slightly different review base -- no Nintendo Power but did have Game Revolution) And again, 75 was the lowest (Gamespot and Game Revolution
So the game was generally well-received, although some don't realize exactly what it was (and what it is).

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

WEll he got it all wrong.
the smash bros series is what all nintendo fans look foward to

"Captain Falcon (from StarFox)"

this has to be a joke

This part is the best:
"Low-grade crap pretending to be a Nintendo star-studded event. Even though it appears to be a culmination of many fantastic Nintendo games, it simply isn’t even close to resembling anything remotely good".

And now they say: "Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be out on March 9, 2008. We can't wait."
