Forums - Gaming - Xboxers Bashing PS4 For Reliability Issues Is Comically Ironic

If it IS faulty then fire all cilinders....but as it stands.....its not. Its normal run of the mill stuff being made to look like it is. Lets cross that bridge when we get there....or at least somewhere in it's ball park.

Comparing it to 360 just gives the situation an understandable perspective. No matter if its 0.4% or 10%, its not in the realm of bad yet(30%+).

Then so be it. Using the 360 as a baseline is rather defeatist, we should have much better standards than that.

Let's focus on what we think is an acceptable failure rate, and see if the PS4 achieves it or not. MS shills or not, it is not looking too good in my opinion, but we should wait a few weeks and see.

its not a baseline, its worst case scenario

baseline i would say is 10%, which is what PS3 was. Most don't see PS3 as having a bad failure rate so thats a good area to be in. Its not even close to that, with the knowledge we know right now.

10% over 3 years, presumably. That seems acceptable (if only barely) in my opinion. Let's hope for Sony's sake that this can be achieved.

Bad article, reminds me of something I'd see on N4G.

Bad articles aside, how about the comment section. N4G can give you cancer. lol!

I only go there, if I want my brain melted. So I would forget all my problems without using any substance. XD

Does anyone have a working original xbox 360? I'd really like to know how many are actually still working!

A guy from my job does. I only know this since I sold mine to him so I tend to ask from time to time. It was an. XBox 360 Pro model 20GB.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Yes.

I bought a 2nd generation (Zephyr) XB360 in the summer of 2007 and I have never had a single hardware problem with it in over 6 years.

Of course this is misleading as the XB360 was effectively replaced by a gaming Windows PC in 2008 and the only time the XB360 has been used since was for Halo games, Gears of War games, Alan Wake, and a small handful of other games. It was my HD-DVD player, but we all know how that format war ended.

They obviously have some short term memories

I would say it's a bit early for people in the Xbox camp to poke fun given that the launch of the XBO is this week. Anything can happen. The other day someone was telling me how the world has grown more violent. I said not really. People are just more aware due to the forces of globalization and the internet. Killing and violence has always been there. It's the same with console failure (thought Nintendo has a good track record). Even a small percentage would seem big if they take to the internet and rant, and these days people create multiple accounts and vent on a multitude of websites (not to mention trolls).

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

I remember Sony fans flooding VGChartz with threads about RRoD, and I can see now that Xbox fans have created none. Even the mods are surprised.

Keep up the good job with threads such as these and things might change.

Time will tell. It's the people who are so quick to jump on any rumor, story or bit of news that delights their biases and consumer loyalties who I find entertaining, and not in a positive way.

Besides, it would probably be wise to keep one's mouth shut until after the XB1 release if you are in the above category of people as I'm willing to put money on the table right now that there will be hardware issues, failures, and DOA consoles as well, which I'm sure people in the Not MS camp will be all to happy to exaggerate, gloat about and beat into the ground.

Mark it: there will be reports of DOA XB1s. You heard it here first. Simple law of averages for a major product release with a good million units being shifted to consumer hands; some will be defective.

If they can give it, then they need to learn to take it.

Lesson of life.

Interestingly the Xbox fans haven't created a single thread here about the PS4 failure rate, impact, whatever (sadly for your entertainment), and, unsurprisingly, the mandatory X1 failure thread should not come from Nintendo fans.
