Forums - Gaming - Wal-Mart May Be Vacating Wii U Stock For PS4 And Xbox One

Reports are starting to come in that Wal-Mart is pulling Wii U hardware and software from their shelves to create more space for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launches. A tipster working with the retailer in some capacity has posted a photo of a vacant Wii U section also stating that the retailer is setting up their other next-gen stations. The tipster spoke to the department manager who told him that he received a memo to pull all Wii U stock.

If its true, I wonder for how long and on how many stores... If this lasts pasts the x1 launch, it will be trouble for Nintendo since Walmart is soo huge

I guess we should wait for the update to draw the final conclusions

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Looks like 1 Wii U shelf and 4 Wii ones.  Pic is too blury to read the labels.

Wow if true ....

That pic was already confirmed to be misleading. The X1 and PS4 sections at that store were already allocated. These shelves are blank because they were moving things around, not because they were getting rid of them.

Chalk up another website desperate for hits. I swear any sites that do this should be blacklisted from all forums.

See. The holiday Nintendo sales onslaught has already begun. They won't be able to keep that shit in stock

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

From this picture it appears they are pulling the Wii games and only 1 row of Wii U. Which I wouldn't be surprised if they just pulled all the Wii games they know won't sell and decided to put the One and 4 games there for now. Also the 2 bottom rows of games don't have a price tags. Suggesting that they were planning this in advance and didn't reorder stock to fill the shelf or they started to pull the price tags and stopped.

my personal opinion would be that they are most likely just reorganizing the game sections.

nope, my walmart has an entire shelf like that for only Wii U games, consoles and accesories, but most of the rows are labeled Wii instead of Wii U. That is a real shame.

Hopefully this isn't true. I wouldn't think it is with Mario 3D World right around the corner, but Xbox One and PS4 are expected to be pretty massive so I guess it is understandable to a degree.

This must be it.  Congrats Nintendo.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
