Hey guys! New to the forum here!
My console is working great!
I have 4 friends with PS4's and they have zero issues other than the PSN bugs everyone is experiencing!
I also had to stop into my Best Buy yesterday to pick up a camera and I asked the Geek Squad guy if they had any returns of the PS4. He told me that they had ZERO consoles coming back broken out of 125 they sold.
I think realistically the console will have a 3%-5% failure rate. Which is about 30,000-50,000 systems out of the inital 1 million thus far.
But in the age of the internet where everyone can post their displeasure on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, game forums etc. It makes the issue seem much more widespread than it is. Also, if your system IS working, you probably aren't going online to post about it. You are PLAYING it. Side note, there have also been many troll accounts on websites like IGN, GameSpot, etc with 1 single post created in the last day or two saying their PS4 is bricked with no details or proof of anything. There are even accounts on the Playstation Support Forum like this as well. Everyone needs to calm down and let things play out.
I do feel terrible for those with broken consoles but I am confident the machine will hold up fairly well. It seems like if your system wasn't DOA, you should be fine!
I went through 4 Xbox 360's myself so I am no stranger to hardware issues with consoles.
Good luck to everyone and I hope you are all enjoying your PS4s! :D
