I see you have no interest in a discussion. Fine by me, i'm not here to be correct.

That much is obvious at this point.

On topic: Releasing everything at once would obviously increase the situation in the short term, but in turn lead to mid and long term damage, because going for many months without new games is poison for the momentum. I'd say the damage is far greater than the initial benefit, because every big new release increases interest in the hardware and the overall software library. Spacing this effect out makes it occur more often which is also better for the overall perception of the system. If it's regularly talked about in a positive way (due to new games people are playing), then additional sales are generated eventually.

Look at that great contribution, taking things out of context seems to be your only addition to the thread.

What? There's clearly a bunch of on topic lines in my post.

But if you insist, I can drop a few Nintendo IPs that will or can be released after April 2014: Super Smash Bros., Mario Party, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, Rhythm Paradise, Kirby and Endless Ocean. Plus sequels to Zelda and Wii Sports which will obviously attract more attention more than the remade The Wind Waker and Wii Sports Club.

And X is a first party game.

I'm not sure about Wii Sports performing that well on the WiiU. I did forget all about Smash Bros though, that's a heavy hitter indeed. X is 1st party? Do you mean the developer or just the game?

Having their best releases spaced out seems to be the best bet. There is no need to release the best games in one month when the Wii U needs those first party games! More so with the little third party support they will have in the coming months.

I think Mario Kart will be for March or April next year. Super Smash Bros could be on the third quarter of 2014.

Besides they have Super Mario 3D World for this holidays and other Wii series games. I think they are spacing the releases quite well!

Monlith Soft is owned by Nintend I think. That would make them first party right?

A new HD Zelda would really rise the Wii U's morale. Wii U will do fine. I have no doubts. Nintendo doesn't need all its cards out right now as it is only year 2 of Wii U. There is so much more to be done yet little people to do it right now because their games won't sell well on Wii U without Nintendo's games selling first. The Wii U will be at a point where it will always make profit in the future. They already make profit off one game and that is outdated data so who knows what it takes now. I believe in the big N.

They would be fools to do so. This Christmas shopping season they have Wii Fit, Wii Play U and Super Mario 3D World to create sales momentum. Then they've got Donkey Kong, Mario Kart 8, Yarn Yoshi, SMT x Fire Emblem, X, Bayonetta 2 plus whatever they have lined up for E3 next year, and SSBU before Christmas next year.

Donkey Kong and Mario Kart 8 are essential to stop sales momentum dying down after Christmas. SSBU is essential to drive sales momentum next Christmas. Why would they want to fuck that up..?

This is an odd thread lol

the only thing that could save Nintendo right now is to lower the price of the Wiiu to 200.00, it was a bad concept, rushed, and failed big time, i think its too late for the Wiiu, go back and just create and HD Wii with an updated Wiimote and nunchuck, and they can fix it, what they have now is just an overpriced tinker toy

Of course Wii Sports won't perform as well on the Wii U as it did on the Wii, because the Wii U doesn't have better motion controllers, so online play is going to be biggest new addition for a new game in the series. But even if you expect it to sell only 3-5m copies, that's still fairly big.

Nintendo owns a major stake in Monolith Soft, so it is almost as good as a first party studio. They have still made one or the other game for Namco-Bandai since then though. X, just like Xenoblade before it, is a first party game.

They wholly-own it, or very nearly so. Per wiki

"The company was founded on October 1, 1999 by producer Hirohide Sugiura and director Tetsuya Takahashi after they left Square Co. and accepted an investment from Namco.[1] As of May 6, 2007, Nintendo owned controlling interest in the company after Namco Bandai sold 80% of its 96% stake in Monolith Soft to Nintendo. This went into effect May 1, 2007.[2] Later Namco sold the remaining 16%, making Monolith Soft a first-party developer for Nintendo."

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Haven't they already?

By april 2014. Nintendo will have had released almost every IP they have on the WiiU.

Really? You cant be serious.

Why? Which games are left? By that time the WiiU will have Mario 2D, Mario 3D, Mario Kart, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Pikmin, Wii franchises like Wii Party and Wii Fit. The other games are 3rd party, if you're refering to X and Beyonetta 2.

Fire Emblem,Animal Crossing, Metroid, SSB, Kirby, Fatal Frame(second Party), Punch Out and Kid Icarus

F-Zero, Golden Sun and Starfox all have a chance of appearing(Starfox is the most likely one to appear)

Bayonetta is second Party and X is first Party (Nintendo Owns monolith)

bet with ash3336 he wins if Super Mario 3D World sells less than Mario Sunshine during the first three years, I win if 3D World outsells Sunshine's first 3 years. Loser get sig controlled for 3 months (punishment might change)

Do you doubt the WiiU? Do you believe that it won't match the GC?

Then come and accept this bet
