Ouch!

I am actually glad that DMC4 did well on both systems. It will show developers like Capcom if they make a quality well made game people will buy it and they will make a profit. So I think it benefits all of us.

Worldwide 1st Week DMC4 Sales:

PS3: 470,000
360:  400,000

WW Attach Rates:

PS3: 4.80%
360:  2.35%

So which system had the better debut?

All in all though--congrats Capcom...a huge success....870,000 copies sold WW first week. Definitely beats my expectations. Didn't expect more than 600,000.

he is obviously completely wrong.

But one positive note, 360 has sold more copies in America...... Period.
with a game that has always been a Sony franchise in the past.

so the only real conceivable win here for the 360, revolves around a seperate topic entirely.
the fact that they beat the PS3 to the market by 1 year.
and the fact that they were able to establish DMC4 as a multi-platform title instead of a Sony exclusive.
And that as we know is obviously very very very old news.

Seems like to me, exclusives for the 360 and PS3 are going the way of the dodo. The way current games are selling, third parties won't favor one console over the other. They will concentrate on multi-platorm titles which pretty much wipes out the advantages one console may have over the other.

More Xbox360 owners = more 360 software buyers

3.87 Million PS3's in NA

Ummm...... IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DESTROY THE PS3 VERSION IN NA. Anybody who thought otherwise must be smoking some good herb. Pass that would you.

The only real surprise IMO is that despite having a 7mil console lead, the X360 version STILL sold less worldwide.
