Shenmue 3 Most Likely Coming to PS4

Hold on to your seats, folks. This could be big! According to a recent interview on Kotaku, Sony has shared its plans on bringing back games that fans have been asking for. One of the games that happened to got the most requests was the Shenmue franchise.

Schreier: With the caveat that this is all up in the air, this is all in negotiations, are there any that you guys have in mind that you would really like to bring over here?P

Boyes: I think a lot—we get a ton of requests for Yakuza, a ton of requests for Shenmue. We see the lists. Like everything that people have tweeted Gio, literally we have a person that compiles those lists and prioritizes based on how many requests we've gotten. And I think to date there's well over 10,000 mentions across like forum threads and stuff like that. So those are the ones we're focused on.

The fact that Boyes went out of his way to mention Shenmue means that their highly considering bringing the franchise over. Further more, Mark Cerny (PS4 dev) himself has approached Shenmue creator, Yu Suzuki on the possibility of bringing Shenmue 3 on the PS4.

Announcements unfortunately won't take place for another 6 months. But hey, someone's talking about it. I sure hope they do bring it over and get Ryu out of that morbid cave. He journey deserves a proper ending.

Hmm I just wanted to say lol and not even read the OP. BUT

Since Boyes mentions both Yakuza and Shenmue, there is probably some merit to that, he wouldn't mention them but something else otherwise. Still, I think, the most likely scenario is Yakuza 5 localisation + Shenmue 1&2 HD remake for PS3/PS4/Vita in any combination. Shenmue 3 is imo definitely out of their reach.



So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

I've only played the first Shenmue. Would be cool if they did a remake of Shenmue 1 and 2 using better textures and hardware capabilities. What I mean is if they were to remake Yakuza with Yakuza 3 graphics.  Then release Shenmue 3 after.

Stop giving these dumb ass sites your clicks already, at no point did they ever suggest Shenmue 3 is coming to PS4, Boyes only said they had a lot of requests for Shenmue. If Shenmue is coming, its gonna be a HD remaster/remake first before 3 is coming.
