Not that I think that PC is garbage by any means but an important thing that needs to be considered when you do comparisons like this is that a PC will almost never be able to produce the graphic fidelity that an equal-speced console can do. If you make a PC with the same specs as the 360 has you'll have trouble trying to get games to look anywhere near as good. This isn't the PC's fault though because console games can be so much more easily optimized than PC games usually are which is why that disparity exists.

 

@Darth Tigris: I disagree. While I don't understand people who think resolution is all that matters or is the most important thing, they most certainly shouldn't be moderated for it because everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

@Shinobi-san: I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I'm not saying that resolution doesn't matter because it does but the people that I entitled "bad gamers" were the people that act like resolution is the most important thing or overplay it. Like I said to adriane23, resolution does matter (and it will matter more or less in varying degrees to different people) but it's one of many things that should be considered when choosing a system, it should not be the defining one and I truly believe the only people that act like it is are the one's that are caught up in the console wars crap.

@adrian23: So? There are obvious other factors that go into deciding whether PC gaming is what someone goes for.

This console war is just further proving how pathetic and simple-minded otherwise rational people can become over something so petty. I'm no exception. The excuses made for ones ridiculously bias behavior. The cries of being a victim followed by attacking when the scent of blood hits. The overwhelming hypocrisy. It's really something else.

indeed, and what's not to like... it's not like anybody is getting physically hurt anyway.... it's just all fun with no harm....

All this resolution crap is just fodder for the console wars. Something to latch on to and brag about. As potential buyer though, I couldn't care less about native resolution of the games.

in the same ballpark you could compare why people buy iPads and iPhones or pretty much any apple products when they can get better performing products for cheaper most of the time??? The answer is pretty much the same... Convenience and ease of use for noobs or people that want something simple even if they are techies

 Which is 12 million more members than XBL. Remember, 65 million ACTIVE members, aka played/bought a game in the past month. I don't know how those XBL members were counted, but the figure might also include dead accounts.

There was never a problem with the power difference to start with, people just like to bitch too much about it. The question is: Will I pay 500 USD for it then pay for Gold? The answer is hells to the fuck no. Same boat with the PS4, Will I pay 400 for it then pay for PS+? The answer is hells to the fuck no. We will see what happens in a few years though. We'll see, but I'm never again going to pay to play online.

100% agree OP.

Before the MS 180, I too was prepared to skipping this generation. But now, and especially after a certain 1080p PS4 exclusive received poor reviews, I am fine with my console of choice (Xbox one) and any potential shortcomings, which are starting to appear more and more irrelevant. 

At the end of the day, the game has to be good, regardless of the resolution. 1080p does not make a game better.  1080p does not make an ugly game look better. The multiplatform differences are slight, the difference bewteen 360 and PS3 was much greater. More and more people will come to realise this. Arguably, 1080p is PS4's greatest weapon, but thus far, it appears to be firing blanks.
