It ties in with what I said though.

If whoever reviewed it at IGN feels the best Killzone is an 8, then clearly it is another guy who gave KZ2 and KZ3 a 95 or whatever. It shows how we really shouldnt compare metric systems to such great heights, especially on meta.

And if it is the same person: Then he's just very inconsistent.

This is the same company that gave MGS4 and GTA IV tens and used two different cars, colors and tracks in their next gen Need for Speed comparison. They also have been caught reviewing games on easy. LOL IGN has lost a lot of credibility. The only thing that keeps them going is the amount of news they attain compared to the competition.

I'd give MGS4 a 10. WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING SIR

It wasn't a ten, in retrospect the game was at best a nine on average an 8.5 in overall quality as a game.

I'm not surprised by the average at all, only a little surprised by polygons review but its obvious the reviewer went in not wanting to like it.

Either way an average of 7.4/10 is pretty good for a launch title especially when they changed direction and opened up the maps and art pallet for the first time.

Anyone expecting 9.5 averages for launch titles on ps4 and Xbox one are dreaming

PixelVolt - 9.5/10

http://pixelvolt.com/2013/11/13/killzone-shadow-fall-review/

Key stuff:

Killzone: Shadow Fall is the latest installment in a series known for being well-received, but not exactly as big as Sony has always wanted. This time around, Killzone manages to hit all the right notes, drive home the multiplayer component, and round it all out by showcasing the kind of visuals that the PS4 is capable of producing, making it the best of the franchise.

With visuals showcasing the PS4′s capabilities so well, I was often mesmerized by the stunning aesthetics to a point that made it difficult to remember what I was doing. Shadow Fall is beautiful – the franchise’s grays and browns are replaced by gorgeous vistas, detailed cities, and dense forests. Particle effects are phenomenal, and the character models are generally realistic, even if non-pivotal characters are sometimes given a jarring lack of detail. With many games aiming to show off their respective console’s graphical capabilities, Shadow Fall stands out among the best examples.

These extraordinary visuals don’t even take much of a hit in the game’s wonderful multiplayer component. 1080p/60fps – it’s an absolute blast wrapped up in an attractive package. Out is a traditional leveling system, in is challenge-based progression. Shadow Fall impresses with this unique spin, focusing on player skill and dexterity rather than a generic level-by-level ladder to climb. With basically every gun in each of the three classes unlocked from the get-go, players are free to simply get in and start killing with their preferred weapons and loadouts, reducing the fear of new players feeling ill-equipped.

..who is pixelvolt?

Did you even read the review? I'm sure the asnwer lies with going to the site.

After reading only 10 reviews that site is probably my new favourite gaming review site. I've been REALLY disapointed wih most gaming sites really but this one was extraordinary.

I disagree. It touched me more than most games ever did. "Retrospect" to you perhaps. I stick by my opinion of the game and having played it >10 times (last time being a few weeks ago): I still adore it.

EDIT: I also prefer MGS2 over MGS3 for reference; I love the whole insane convoluted part of MGS. It's the reason I love the series :D

I think it is safe to say many people got this one wrong sadly. It still looks like it has great multiplayer

Im not arguing with the fact that the game touched you. Of course it did, it had an unneccesary amount of cinematics in it. Barely had any gameplay.

I don't know about that. It has less than MGS3 for sure but not less than say.. Journey, which I also adore.

Act 1 and 2 has a lot of gameplay
Act 3 as well even if it is just a tail mission with great atmosphere imo
Act 4 has it too but its mostly against droids the , and the setting is just <3
Act 5 was poor from a gameplay standpoint, but dat microwave and fist fight <3

And while the Drebin system is garbage, it still allows you to decide wether you want to go guns blazing or stealth if you so wish.

While the cutscene to gameplay ratio is high, saying MGS4 had "barely any gameplay" is really pushing it and you know it.

Anyway yeah, I think we prioritize differently. I found MGS3s gameplay to become a tad meh after a while and in retrospect: The eating/healing system could've been done better.

I still think both are masterpieces :P

MGS3 was a masterpiece to me. Part four made me angry because I had to watch Raiden having all the fun while I played as an old man crawling about. Thats like me playing as Sal in Uncharted while Drake is in all the cool cinematics.
