So this is the worst Killzone in the series huh?

According to numerics, yes. I say that because a chunk of the reviewers called it the best in  the series, but then graded it lower than previous iterations (IGN is guilty of this, giving it a 8, while they graded KZ2 with a 9.4 and KZ3 with an 8.5).

Yeah my post was kinda ironic. It's funny how franchises like Assassin's Creed, Need for Speed or Halo get high scores with each iteration despite being the same or worse than its prequels (AC3) and others are punished extremely hard for not getting better (Batman or this new Killzone).

I still look forward to playing this game.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

This is so true. We give ourself a swift kick to the balls every time this happens, and can't even see it ourselves.

I wonder if this will be the gen of "Let's try to suck out the fun out of this hobby just to prove how artsy and jaded we really are." I've seen it building up in the community of gamers in recent years, wonder if this is where this gen is gonna go...we'll see.

I predict a final score of 76-78 when all is said and done

I think we all can agree that any score polygon give to ps4 and Xbox one titles is going to be notably lower than most everywhere else.

I can't agree. If Polygon will score xbone games lower than everyone else colour me very surprised. Regarding PS4 games, no surprise there.

Btw. Were there any Egde reviews? Those may be harsh as well.

If this a new direction they are moving towards (low scores for not evolving) expect lots of low review scores. I already expect them to slam Forza for not adding new effects like day/night and/or weather and the drop in content.

Hopefully this is the start of a gen without hyped inflated scores. If the aforementioned title doesn't get blasted I will probably just skip reading reviews this coming gen since the inconsistency will still remain and I won't find gaming journalism reliable.

Of course I never really found them to be very reliable. Bastards scored Neir low!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

oh dont get me wrong, theyre going to score xbox one higher wherever they can potentially get awat with it, but even those scores are going to be artificially lower than elsewhere

Polygon.. Is a fucking joke. Ghost>killzone? I don't think so.

Even with the relatively disappointing reviews so far, they mostly seem to praise the multiplayer.

But like I said in in the knack thread the game will be fun/good to some and bad to others.

They're not exactly alone in that though
