It clearly has the option to work this way, anyone that has a VIta and the latest firmware can see theres 2 ways of connecting it, one to mirror the screen and another for it to be its own screen for games that support it.

I think you mean Nintendo. Lol, they tried to copy the PSP's remote play.
gamers once again giving all the credit to Sony, when Nintendo is just flawless doing that.
