42. Sonic Adventure (last year 44), first impression 8.5, replayability 8.5, technical 6

Pros: prequel to Sonic Adventure 2 (no spoilers, my number 2 now and in previous years), keeping much of what made that game great, including the glorious treasure-hunting and the just-right balance of platforming and acrobatics that made the Adventures the best of the 3D Sonic epoch. Fun with treasure-hunting, too.

Cons: Fishing and lots and lots of glitches, even in the remastered GameCube version that i played (can't imagine what would have gone down in the DC version)

Hint for #41: A furry gunman teams up with a secret agent and his former foe in order to save his home planet from a nefarious villain.

Hint 41: Current convention would dictate this entry come out as the 60th and 30th anniversaries of its franchise. Instead its US releases premiered on the franchises 9th anniversary in the United States
