44. Xenoblade Chronicles, (39 last year), first impression 8.5, replayability 6, technical 8.

Pros: An intricate, MMO-esque battle system that keeps things fresh and exciting throughout the game, being partially real-time and having one great hell of a lot of strategy under the hood. Vast, breathtaking areas to explore, tons of stuff to do and a compelling cast of characters.

Cons: Too long, which hurts my desire to replay it. Some bosses (Xord!) can inspire the urge to mutilate small animals. Somewhat nonsensical ending.
