Hint for #48

An old classic RPG from the 1990s that had a NDS remake of its prequel like sequel that also changed its genre a little bit.

Lufia?  Lufia 2 was it's prequel like sequel that had a remake that played like Ys instead of a standard RPG.

---

Hint for my number 48.

Great "Wall" of "China."  The Great Wall of China has nothing to do with the game, but answer should be obvious if you know the series.

Ding ding ding :D

Lufia it is!

As for your game.......uhh.....Romance of the three Kingdoms n_n?

Close enough.  Romance of the Three Kingdoms 4 Wall of Fire.

xD!

I remembered our conversation about the series - you seem to like it alot which is why I decided to guess it XD

My second choice was gonna be Sleeping Dogs lol.

I'm going to have to stop talking to you about my favorite games until after December 31.

#49 - SSX Tricky (Kudos to Soulfly666 for guessing this)

SSX Tricky took an extremely solid foundation from 2001's SSX and just ran with it.  Ran absolutely crazy with it.  Ran with a bucket of neon-coloured fireworks with it.  Everything that had made that first game so great - the solid controls; the well-designed courses; the insane tricks; were just amplified to the extreme in this awesome sequel.

It was everything I wanted.  Suddenly tracks were custom built theme parks where you could ride in the sky and grind rails indefinitely.  Tricks became these ridiculous feats of strength achieved while getting ridiculous air.  The cast of characters was one of the most memorable you'll come across - and this was a goddamn snowboarding game!

SSX Tricky definitely laid the foundation for the series (which went on to become one of my favourite of all time) and was a masterclass in design of how to take a solid foundation and make an unforgettable sequel.

Oh, and Tokyo Megaplex is one of the best tracks of all time:

Clue for my #48 - a game known as much for its bowling-side game as it was for the main content of the game.

S. Peelman is right, my #48 is indeed a Zelda game. Might as well spill the beans.

48. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64/GC/Wii)

I used to actively dislike Majora's Mask, and it's still my least favorite 3D Zelda game. Most of my ire is directed at the save system, which doesn't jive with the structure of the game (compared to Metroid or even Skyward Sword, in which it works just fine), and how annoyingly long it took to reach the first dungeon (the beginning of an annoying trend for the series). Even so, Majora's Mask is brilliant. One of a kind. There's no other experience quite like it. It's as disturbing and charming as a Tim Burton movie, and it's deviously designed to boot. It's a quirky, fascinating younger brother to Ocarina of Time, and a must-play game for any fan of the series.

Tekken Tag Tournament

(Correct)

No. 49 Starquake

This game is about as old as me (28 years) and holds a special place in my heart as I used to play this constantly on my old tape based Amstrad CPC when I was growing up. This game really fuelled my imagination with it's sheer size and scale. You control B.L.O.B (Bio-Logically Operated Being) whose ship has crash-landed on a planet and the crash has disrupted the planets core. In order to stabilise the planet and leave, you have to collect different ship components spread across the planet and bring them back together. Of course, the planets lifeforms see you as hostile and try to kill you.

This game had so many different elements, especially for a game made in 1985. Teleporters (where you had to remember the name of each location to type in), hover boards and BLOB has the ability to build his own platforms to climb. The only problem I had was the game was too damn hard as the component locations kept shifting with each new game and the place you had to take them also shifted. The play area was absolutely massive as seen here (too big to post):

Clue for 48:

This game was released a few years into this gen and is a reboot of a reboot.

Wow I checked and got Portal 2 right!!! I seem to guess all the easy ones though xDD.
