Handheld game, not a Sega game. Not a platformer either.

The game has a lot to do with rails of some sort.

Zelda: Spirit Tracks?

Spoilered for Michael-5's sake .

You got it right. I'm surprised no one got it first time around.

It's quite clear, vehicle parts (Anjean, Gage), Leprechaun (Cole). Maybe I should have gone hard with a Malladus hint.

Yay .

The combination of 'rails' and 'handheld game' made me think of it immediately. When I then read that characters are named after vehicle part, I was pretty sure.

#49 Hint

This game is probably even harder to guess than 'Gunfighter'. It's a lot newer, and it only came out on a platform that isn't known for it's games. Actually, that's a big reason that by far most people look to the biggest competitor in the computer space instead. The game itself is reminiscent of a fairly well-known puzzle game on Nintendo's NES, but not related. Some levels are actually the same though! It stands out because of it's bright colors, and it's catchy sound-effects.

Hm, so a Mac/Linux exclusive?

A Mac exclusive, yes .

I'm surprised as how far that hint narrows it down.

My biggest lead right now is Troubled Souls, the Pipe Mania clone.

It does actually. Not much was made for Mac exclusively.

Troubled Souls is, though, not it. The game I'm looking for however, kind of does fall in the same category so you're probably searching in the right place. I mean, it's a lot different indeed, but it's still a puzzle-platformer that was based off an NES game. Still, my game's look-a-like, was exclusively made for the NES (though I think a third-party port to another system does exist), something which Pipe Mania wasn't. If I could make it a little easier, I'd say that the NES game was made by Tecmo.

EDIT: Also, it appears that you can actually find this game on Wikipedia. Didn't know that. Obscure as it may be, Wiki knows it all!

My clue for 49:

49 is quite an old game so I doubt anyone will have heard of it but it was one of the first open world games that I can think of and not part of any of the major console franchises. Therefore I'm going to split the name into 2 words:

Word 1: You may look upon me but I died long ago.

Word 2: Name of the first completely 3D ID franchise.

___ Quake. Hmm.

I shall meditate on this.

Word 2 is correct!

I have a good idea of how to find it, but now I'm busy with the A Link Between World review thread. They depend on me to tell them why GameInformer gave it a 10/10, since GameInformer never gives handheld games a 10/10.

50. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance(GBA)
I chose this title because of all the fun I had with it the other summer. It was a blast and the open quest system was rather nice. The game had a great battle system. The job system is great in that you can memorize all the moves so you don't force a character to be a certain type. The other characters felt fairly entertaining albeit a tad childish. Another thing that I enjoyed was the fact that in the end, you aren't really the hero. You are essentially the dick who wants to end everyone else's happiness for your own desires.

Hint for #49:This game is supposed to be a spirit successor to a well-known series that has entries on the Saturn, GBA and an HD remake on the 360

I can say with 100% certainty that you're referencing Guardian Heroes.

But I no not of a spiritual succesor developed by Treasure. Yet... Code of Princess has been described as such.

Yeah you are correct. I think its called a spiritual successor because I think it has some of the original Guardian Heroes staff on the dev team.

I know which game is too

My first thought is that it could be a port of a certain bally/midway arcade game with a similar name, but that one has cactuses and bullets don't bounce in them, so I had to do some searching.

Heh. Veknoid PM'ed me with the answer. He was correct. If you've guessed it as well, I'm impressed at both of you. I didn't think it would be so easy to track down such an old game using vague clues. Even when researching .

Yes, Gunfighter was my guess too, but he was faster. The Midway arcade game I mentioned before with a similar name that clearly inspired Gunfighter was Gun Fight.

I'm finding all these clues impossibly difficult. I don't know enough games :'(
