Spin-off of a popular franchise, with the same controls and inventory system and where you still get eaten. LOTS of passcodes.

I meant that Armored Core is better than Custom Robo Arena. 

I'll say Custom Robo then.  I don't know anything else about the series to know which game it is.

26. Sonic Heroes (last year 28), first impression 8.5, replay 9, technical 7.5

Pros: A different spin on 3D Sonic gameplay, but still close enough to Adventure-style that it gleans the best of what those games brought about in terms of mechanics. The three-man combo system works exceptionally well, allowing for a varied gameplay experience that you change up on the fly. It also dredged up Team Chaotix from obscurity (aside from poor Mighty the Armadillo). For the most part, the four different takes on the same story mode were different enough to be worthwhile.

Cons: Glitches, much like many 6th gen Sonic team games, it could have used a good bit more polish.
