31 - Mario Party 5

Mario Party 5 was the 1st Mario party game I played and was truly the best multiplayer experience I had on the Gamecube. What can I say? It has the best maps, mini-games and the character selection is very decent. Then we also have a lot of different modes to play in. This game was really packed with content and it really made me content. It's on my top 5 of games I've had most fun with. This is one game I'll never turn my back on and it still holds up well today, it's just such a fun and colorful game.

Have you played Mario Party 1 or 2?

I've played 2, it's a good game but I didn't have as much fun. The factor to that is probably that I was younger when I played MP5, so I was easily entertained. I first played MP2 a few years ago.

Hint 30 -

Steady, steady, hopefully that joker won't notice anything.

I'm afraid I've only played the first game, although I own the others. I managed to get Saga for $80 on eBay, but usually it costs around $200-$250. Once I get through the series I'll be sure to let you know!

How the f*** did you do that? You must have just got the disks didn't you?

Also PDS has gone up since you last looked, I'm a pretty decent eBay seller (made over $1,000 last year off flipping games from garage sales), and the game usually sells for about $280-$320 now.

Either way, I hear a lot of good things about this franchise, I might go beat the original/orta soon.

Just the discs and the case. But you can find the manual online.

I didn't realize the price had gone up. That's crazy.

Anyway, you should give the first game a chance. It's unforgiving but it's a lot of fun.

You got real lucky with PDS, but it happens sometimes. I got Tactice Ogre for N64 for $40 with shipping, complete.

I'm going to try the first before I make this expensive investment. Saturn and Virtual Boy are pretty much the only systems which I don't own, that I give a damn about. Don't care about GameGear, or Atari's.

Ah, maybe. I've been a constant Mario Party gamer, and I played all of them as they released. MP1 and MP2 IMO are the best of the bunch, the quality drops after that. However MP for GBA, and DS are excellent. I might end up buying Islad Tour now.

30 - Batman: Arkham Asylum?

#29 - LittleBigPlanet Vita (Kudos to no-one for guessing this)

Not enough Vita owners in this thread.

Anyway, I'm in a bit of a rush today but I like to do a summary for every game.  LBPV is objectively the best game in the series.  It's the most complete and feature rich and the new possibilities in create mode are absolutely fantastic.  There's a lovely story tagged on that's honestly the best attempt at LBP storytelling since the first; there's a fantastic soundtrack; graphics are gorgeous and gameplay is massively improved with the addition of touch-screen stuff (rather than being detrimental like I first expected).  All in all, a fantastic package for Vita and a game I'll want to take with me whenever I take my Vita out.

Oh, and the minigames in the arcade were adorably awesome.

Clue for my #28 - There's a level set in a theme park in this game. If you jump in a fountain in this level, a voice over the tannoy will say "Send a plumber for immediate hairball inspection!". If you go on the ferris wheel, the voice will shout "Attention, assassin in the carnival area. Ready the sentries. Deploy the Tesla drones. SHUT DOWN THE TEACUPS!"

And the game is filled with humour like this.

If you guess it from these clues, I will be mightily impressed.

Yeah, it's Asylum. Excellent game, but I'll come to the soon enough.

#37 - This game received some praise for mocking other well established franchises but critisizm for a lack of originality. Had a very challenging post game challenge mode, which took me 2 days to finish, but it was damn satisfying. IMO this game defines fast paced action games. This game was criticized because the enemies look like a main enemy type from Mass Effect. There is even a section which mocks Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. This is a futuristic space themed game, which takes place on a ship which looks awefully similar to the Citadel from Mass Effect.

37 is a Platinum Studios game, as someone guessed. Now what Platinum Studios games looks kinda like Mass Effect (doesn't play like it, just has similar ships/enemy types)

#30 - It's not a spoiler that everyone who is like you dies in this game because it's a prequel to the game where the 1 survivor is the protagonist. One of the enemy ships in this game has the same name as a fast American sports car. Prequel to the highest rated FPS.

#28 - I'm talking to someone about this game in the thread right now. This game was known to destroy controllers/skin on your hand because of the minigames which involved excessive rotating of the analog stick. Damn those N64 controller durabilities, they still worked even after the analog stick was grinded to a dust!

Yup.

Mario Party 1 is my second favorite Mario Party. It had some of the best mini games, an awesome single player mode, great maps, and it was just a blast. The only cons are that the 1 vs. 3 mini games are heavily biased towards the 3 people teams, and a couple mini-games + the single player really abused the idea of rotating the analog stick as fast as you can.

This game literally hurts to play.....and it's worth it.
