This being the first time I have ever put together a top 50 list, it is really odd how many entries I have that are "part 2" in a series.  There are tons of them...Behind due to holidays, Clues for:

29 - This is the first 3D entry in this popular series and was meant to be a launch title for N64.  It was given more resources including character modeling by Rare and postponed.

28 - Commonly known as one of the "Big3" in arcade history, this is the 3rd highest grossing arcade game of all time both in units sold and revenue.  It is also the only game in the top 5 that is not a "shooting" arcade game.

29: Killer Instinct Gold? EDIT: No GoldenEye 007 I think.

28: Donkey Kong? Though I admit I don't know what the Big3 Arcade games are... But I figure it's something like Pac-Man, Asteroids, Donkey Kong .

Nope.  I should clarify.  I think rare may have only worked on 1 of the models...not sure on it.  LOL, on second thought it isn't a very good clue.

You're right I was thinking about it all wrong... Guessing...

29: Mario Kart 64.

Yep, 29 is now right.

33 - This game is the the somewhat overlooked sequel to the original NES game which contained an inexplicable head to toe pink suit. This sequel, which I very slightly prefer, never contained any actual people.

30 - This entry in the series is the favorite of many and was the first to feature grappling and projectile deflection with the main weapon.

#33: Super Punch Out!!

#30: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

#28: Street Fighter 2?

Signature goes here!

31. Super Mario 3D Land
3DS (2011)
Nintendo EAD Tokyo

After EAD Tokyo's masterpiece that was Super Mario Galaxy 2 had finished development, fans quickly wanted to know what was next in store for the now legendary development team. Could another game be headed to the Wii (or even Project Cafe?), or could they even create a game for Nintendo's newest handheld: the 3DS? And if it was developed for the handheld, how would a 3D Mario title fit into a handheld ecosystem? Well we soon found out that Super Mario 3D Land would be heading to the 3DS, and just in time, as the handheld was struggling to find an audience with its lackluster game lineup. And when we finally got our hands on the game, it was nothing we've ever seen in a 3D Mario title. Where 64 and Sunshine gave us large arenas to explore and delve into, and the Galaxy titles gave us more focused rollercoaster ride-type levels, 3D Land embraced its on-the-go hardware by giving us bite sized platform playgrounds. Instead of each level having multiple goals/stars, each level is built for one distinct platforming design, allowing for super tight platform level design. Tokyo EAD proved once more that they are the current masters of the platform genre (and let's face it... gameplay design in general). Also, I need to give a shoutout to Super Mario 3D World. It's brilliant. Top 10 game for sure. Hats off.

30. TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox (2005)
Free Radical Design

It's time to SPLIT! You'll notice that I don't have too many shooter games on my list (in fact, this is the last one you'll see. Sorry.), and that's because for the most part, I really don't find the genre all that fun or engaging. It really takes a game in the genre that's truly unique and special in it's own way to really resonate with me (So props to this game and Bioshock for making the list). What sets TimeSplitters: Future Perfect apart is its full scale assault to put a smile on the player's face. The name of the game is fun, and TimeSplitters delivers it in spades. An engaging, diverse (Zombie Mansion! Apocalyptic Robot War! Far Out 60's Spy Games!), and hilarious (yay comedy!) single player adventure make it worth playing time and time again. But the real fun is the multiplayer. With oodles and oodles of characters to choose from (my favorite is Deadwinda), awesome level editors, and so many gun and game options to choose from (Virus mode is the best!)... the game offered hours upon hours of entertainment with friends. Truly a diamond in the rough. Maybe one day we'll see Sgt. Cortez return for some more awesome time-travel shenanigans...

33 - This game is the the somewhat overlooked sequel to the original NES game which contained an inexplicable head to toe pink suit. This sequel, which I very slightly prefer, never contained any actual people.

32 - The second entry in a series based on each level being from a different time period.  Fans have been clammoring for an HD sequel.

31 - Fans argue on which entry is the best in this series but I prefer part 1.  It is an unexpectedly popular basketball game based on the premise of the NBA JAM series.  The newest current gen entry was by far the weakest and may have meant the demise of the series.

30 - This entry in the series is the favorite of many and was the first to feature grappling and projectile deflection with the main weapon.

28 - Commonly known as one of the "Big3" in arcade history, this is the 3rd highest grossing arcade game of all time both in units sold and revenue.  It is also the only game in the top 5 that is not a "shooting" arcade game.

32 - Eternal Darkness...wait second entry?

31 -  NBA Jam Extreme?

30 - A Link to the Past

38 - Wikipedia say, Street Fighter II....wow really? It's also the only one in the top 10 not released in the early 80's/late 70's...

Number 30 is a bit of a black sheep in its franchise, which usually features very simple power sets, this one allowed you to mix and match powers and create weird ones like Refrigerator, Laser Sword, Curling, and Dynamite.

Exploding snowman was probably the most fun.

This sounds like South PArk, but I'm going to vote Scribblenauts.

More hits for my other games:

#38 - One of the only games where they managed to make a proper 4th installment on a trilogy that ended very conclusively. I.i. it's the 4th game in a trilogy. The enemies in the game are a type of parasite which spread uncontrollably because the enemy type in the games name have been erraticated. Very highly rated franchise.

#37 - This game received some praise for mocking other well established franchises but critisizm for a lack of originality. Had a very challenging post game challenge mode, which took me 2 days to finish, but it was damn satisfying. IMO this game defines fast paced action games. This game was criticized because the enemies look like a main enemy type from Mass Effect. There is even a section which mocks Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. This is a futuristic space themed game, which takes place on a ship which looks awefully similar to the Citadel from Mass Effect.

#30 - It's not a spoiler that everyone who is like you dies in this game because it's a prequel to the game where the 1 survivor is the protagonist. One of the enemy ships in this game has the same name as a fast American sports car.

The key point in mine was "franchise". In other games, the power-ups were simple, in this game, they were a bit weird due to mix-and-match

38: Metroid Fusion

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
