In the last few month, i have seen a large number of topics in defense of X1. One thing that has crossed my mind sometimes now is that some of the topics seems to resemble some other topics in defense of wiiu.

It goes something like: it's not the graphics, but the games

Developers are being lazy to not give us a decent ports

Media is sony biased

And so on...

As a nintendo fan myself, i clearly see now that wiiu will have a long path, and that every port(if it comes) will not be on par with with any other one. I know too that internet will make fun  fo this console for years to come, even if find some level of sucess. Later i have find myself laughing at some good jokes on nintendo, but i'm saving money for buy their console, neitherless of what happens when another next-gen consoles arrive. I see no need to defend nitnendo, since they are the ones that have to prove themselves, not me. Sawing what happened to nintendo this past year, i ask myself if xbox fans will find them selves in the same possition, and will try to defend ms using the excuses that some of nintendo fans are still trying to give.

And you, what do you think?

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

We've had these excuses for a long time. Just goes to show you that you don't care unless you get hurt yourself.

Bingo

There are similarities, but in the long run I think X1 will do very well, probably around Xbox 360 levels of success. The Wii U should do okay too once games come out. I expect it to do better in terms of software/hardware than the N64. As usual though I think their handheld business is what will really carry them.
