Forums - Gaming - Rated T games are dead?

Lets be honest there aren't that many good rated T games out there other than Uncharted. Most of the best selling games are rated M or rated E. Let me give you examples, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, Gears of war, Assassins Creed, GTA are all M rated games.  FIFA, Madden, Pokemon, Mario are all E rated games.  I think Teen rated games may be dead.. What do you think?

I trust no one, not even myself.

Pretty much a game is either a E or an M at this point there is rarely an in-between. Forza Horizon & Injustice are the only million seller T games I can think of.

Because the more M-rated content a game has, the better I can brag about it in the schoolyard.

That's kind of a shame really. Would be nice to see some good games in between "kiddie" and "mature" doing good numbers

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

So the competition to outdo Conegamer's June 31 post keeps running.

If it says 2012, it's very likely that those are the % of games rated by the ESRB in 2012 that got an E, E10+, T or M rating.

Despite their "E-rated" image, Nintendo is pretty much the champion of the E10+ and T ratings nowadays. Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker HD both got E10+, and Wonderful 101 got T. Every Zelda game going forward will probably be rated E10+ -- I don't think Link Between Worlds has been rated yet, but considering Four Swords Anniversary Edition managed an E10+, I think it's a lock for LBW. Fire Emblem: Awakening is rated T, as is every 3D Metroid title. Kid Icarus: Uprising is E10+. Melee and Brawl were both T, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the same for the next one. Xenoblade was T, and Monolith Soft's next game will probably be T as well. Even the latest Mario & Luigi somehow snagged an E10+ rating. Earthbound is also T.

Most of these games were released within the past couple of years. Many of them within the past 10 months.

It doesn't take much for a game to get an M rating these days. With the way games are rated now, Shenmue would get an M rating for alcohol, smoking, and curse words.

A T rating is pretty rare nowadays. But you still see them on occasion. Like wrastlin', MMA, fighters, comic book games, and some games with licensed music. A T rating might be more common in digital releases.
