Yes, the high price point might have already lost them their strongest markets and large potential software sales.
I think the 100$ will hurt MS, but the biggest problem, to me, is not the price difference, it`s the fact that they are trying to sell a 500$ console banking on Kinect. Something that already has been sold with 360.
It`s not a better Kinect that will help sell a 500$ console to kids/parents and more casual gamers.
The 400$ would without a doubt put them in a better place than they are at the moment.
