During the 2010 Video Game Awards, fans of the Mass Effect series were treated to the announcement and reveal of Mass Effect 3. The game ultimately saw a delay, but suffered from quite the controversial ending.

While we’ve known for quite awhile that Commander Shepard won’t be involved in any future titles for the series, Bioware teased the next Mass Effect via Twitter yesterday. From a new character to various looks at the environments in the game, we still weren’t able to take much from the images.

The 2013 Video Game Awards are set to take place next month, and we’ve been informed that the next Mass Effect title will receive an announcement there. The source that passed this information to us is also the same that helped us bring forth the first details on the existence of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

Similar to the reveal of Mass Effect 3, we’ll be given a title and a CGI trailer. We weren’t able to obtain information regarding the game’s protaganist, but as we’ve mentioned above it will not be featuring Commander Shepard.

The game is expected to hit next-generation consoles and PC in late 2014, but early 2014 is also a release window being discussed.

technically mass effect was poop.
I just about got through the second one because I was interested in the story. third one was hardly an improvement so I didnt bother with it.
I hope they improve the gameplay because it needs serious work.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 were great story and gameplay wise. The second is my favorite but it could have used more "RPG" like elements. By the 3rd game it had lost all of that. 3rd game also copped out on many character choices. Only 4 people(Tali,Archangel,Kaiden,The Asari)  from the 1st game return to your party and NO ONE from 2nd returns....what?! This really bugged me a lot, especially that many of my favorites are in the 2nd game. The Ending was of course shit.

I still love the sci fi mythos of the games tho. That was really good in all three. I'm excited to exand more in it's universe.

I think we will get an announcement at the VGA's, but the game won't be out until 2015

Since I finished 3, I never mentioned it again.
Mass Effect 1 was a game that had me at the edge of my seat fearing for Shepard.
The ambient noise, music and characters created an atmosphere unseen till today in the video game industry.
ME2 was GOWed with hordes of enemies and with an intermittent storytelling.
ME3...
Anyway, the first and only space opera that captivated me deeply.

Can't wait to see it, but I call BS on the late 2014 release date (and them discussing even early 2014). Bioware is releasing Dragon Age Inquisition late next year, so there's no way they're competing with themselves and sending out a new ME in that time as well. And if it were early 2014 we'd have already heard much more about it by now.

2015. Make it good

Seeing as Mass Effect is one of my all time favorites I'm very excited for them to launch a next gen Mass Effect game. I just hope it comes out on next gen consoles and not just current gen ones.

Considering the massive drop in CoD and BF current gen sales, exclusively next gen games aren't as far away as we might have thought. All we need is a fast adoption rate of the new gen. I hope that such games are really gonna show us something that isn't possible on current gen and will be a step forward unlike CoD: Ghosts...
